Key Insertion Guides Patents (Class 70/454)
  • Patent number: 8820128
Abstract: An anti-picking device for a lock includes a casing, a rotating body, a key guiding seat and a linking member. The casing has a compartment. The rotating body is rotatably received in the compartment and has an actuated member adapted to rotate the rotating body relatively to the casing and an insertion hole axially connecting two end faces of the rotating body. The key guiding seat is received in the compartment and has an arc guiding groove and a receiving hole. The arc guiding groove communicates with the receiving hole, and the receiving hole penetrates through the key guiding seat in the axial direction. The linking member is received in the receiving hole of the key guiding seat and has an engaging part at a first end, while a second end of the linking member extends out of the receiving hole.

Abstract: An unlocking device includes a casing mounted to a side of a lock. A movable body is movably received in the casing along a first axis and has an opening. The lock has a keyhole in an extent of the opening. A key receiving seat is movable along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis between a first position received in the movable body and a second position at least partially outside of the movable body. A linking rod is extended into the movable seat. A key can be placed into a key receiving hole of the key receiving seat in the second position and then moved into the movable body to engage with the linking rod when the key receiving seat moves to the first position. The key is movable into the keyhole by moving the linking rod along the first axis and is rotatable for a locking or unlocking operation.

Abstract: A door lock indicator device is disclosed. The door lock indicator device can include a rotatable portion, a lock status display, and a switch (e.g., a button). The rotatable portion can define an opening shaped to receive a key blade. The door lock indicator device can be installed on a face of a door lock with the opening aligned with a keyhole of the door lock. Rotating a key blade within a keyway of the door lock can cause the rotatable portion to rotate with the door lock's cylinder. The lock status display can include a first indicator light and a second indicator light. Activating the switch can cause the lock status display to indicate a direction of a most recent rotation of the rotatable portion and/or a locked or unlocked status of the associated door lock.

  • Patent number: 7240526
Abstract: A lock includes a cylinder, a cylinder plug and a locking pin assembly. The cylinder plug is rotatably mounted in the cylinder and has a dummy keyhole and a cylinder plug keyhole defined completely through the cylinder plug. The locking pin assembly has multiple locking pins that are slidably partially held in the cylinder plug keyhole. A two step method to open the lock with a key with serrations initially inserts the key serrations into and presses the key serrations completely through the dummy keyhole. Then the serrations are rotated, aligned with and pulled back into the cylinder plug keyhole. Conventional displacement of the locking pins allows the cylinder plug to be rotated, which opens the lock. Pressing the key completely through the lock removes any foreign objects such as toothpicks, chewing gun or pieces of paper and allows the lock to be opened.

Abstract: A lead-in device is used during installation of a rim-type lock cylinder having a tailpiece in an exit mechanism including a cam having a tailpiece receiving aperture. The lead-in device includes a converging tunnel having an exit aperture sized to match the tailpiece receiving aperture and an entrance aperture that is larger than the exit aperture. The lead-in device also includes a pair of arms positioned to be inserted into the cam aperture to hold the exit aperture in registry with the cam aperture and to maintain the entrance aperture at a predetermined distance from the cam. When the arms are positioned in the cam aperture and the exit aperture is in registry with the cam aperture, the converging tunnel guides a tailpiece inserted into the entrance aperture through the exit aperture and into the cam aperture to engage the cam.

  • Patent number: 5402660
Abstract: A cylinder lock having a key insertion hole or clearance formed between a casing and a key guide member. A key for the cylinder lock is provided with a thin cylindrical member which is to be inserted into the annular key insertion hole when the key is inserted into the cylinder lock. The cylindrical member is filled at its first end section with a part of a key shank. A slider is slidably disposed inside the cylindrical member and normally located inside the second end section of the cylindrical member. The slider is formed at its tip end with a fitting projection which is to be fitted in a guiding depression formed at the tip end face of the key guide member. The key insertion hole is formed narrow or thin, corresponding to the thin cylindrical member of the key, thereby preventing a picking tool from being inserted through the narrow key insertion hole into the cylinder lock.

Abstract: A security device is disclosed which mounts to a king pin of a trailer to prevent unauthorized coupling of the trailer to a tractor. The security device includes a locking device which functions as a deadbolt. Within the locking device are contained a key actuated lock cylinder, a cam actuator and bearing balls which are moved by the actuator to lock the locking device in place and thereby lock the security device to the king pin. The exterior end of the locking device has a small 90.degree. opening through which the key for the locking cylinder is inserted and which permits limited rotation of the key for locking and unlocking the lock cylinder while preventing withdrawal of the key except when the lock cylinder is locked. This provides a positive indication as to whether the locking device is locked or not.
