For example, a practical, real time data reconciliation of measurements from the scanning sensor and measurements from the stationary array sensor is achieved by computing offsets using a bank of Kalman filters to correlate outputs from the two sensors for each measurement zone, wherein each filter possesses a relatively simple computational structure. The Kalman filters can fuse the outputs from the stationary array sensor and the scanning sensor to track, and compensate, drift of the stationary array sensor.

Abstract: A method of producing a textile product, including the steps of: receiving order information from a customer over a network, the order information including an image to be reproduced on the textile product; processing the order information to create an order record readable by an automated weaving machine; and causing the weaving machine to weave the textile product according to the order record so as to have a representation of the image on a face of the textile product.

Abstract: In a test weaving run on a test loom, a first set of article-specific adjustment data is determined for the optimal adjustment of loom components for weaving a particular woven article. First and second sets of machine-specific data characterizing various machine parameters of the test loom and of a different production loom, respectively, are provided to a computer, which compares these two sets of machine-specific data. Based on the differences therebetween, the computer modifies the first set of article-specific adjustment data determined on the test loom, to prepare a modified second set of article-specific adjustment data suitable for optimally adjusting the production loom for weaving the particular article. From that data, control commands are prepared and provided to actuators of the production loom for automatically adjusting the components thereof to the optimal positions for weaving the article.

Abstract: A fuzzy control apparatus for a jet loom detects a flying state of a weft yarn, performs, based on a detected value thus detected, fuzzy inference to determine a modification amount to a rotational frequency of a motor, drives the motor to rotate at a predetermined rotational frequency, and corrects the rotational frequency of the motor based on the correction amount.

  • Patent number: 6301519
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for controlling and monitoring the cutting function of a thread cutter driven by an electric motor in looms. The monitoring of the cutting function is effected by monitoring the rotation of the motor shaft of the cutter drive. To accomplish this, a magnetic pick-up and a permanent magnet are used which are supported at relatively movable parts of the cutter drive.

  • Patent number: 6263257
Abstract: A device for the simulation of spinning machines with a view to their optimum economic use and operation. Starting from material properties of a preproduct (1) determined by measurement, as well as from configuration and setting parameters (3) of such a spinning machine, material properties (2) of the intermediate or output products which are being produced, which properties can be determined by measurement, are predicted using a process model describing the behavior of the spinning machine, by a simulation device. The process model on which a method being based is presented by a neural network. The coefficients determining the actual behavior of this neural network area calculated from a set of sample data in a training phase. This sample data and/or from otherwise conclusively predicted properties of the behavior of such a spinning machine.

  • Patent number: 6135162
Abstract: In a loom of which the backrest (3) and/or the warp stop motion (17) are adjustably supported on the machine frame (22) and are adjustable by associated adjusting equipment with at least one adjusting function, at least the backrest (3) and/or the warp stop motion (17) are automatically adjusted. To achieve this, at least one controllable driven adjusting device (30) connected to the loom control is allocated to the adjusting equipment. The existing actual position of the backrest and/or of the warp stop motion is determined. At least the measured values characteristic of the actual position are compared to prescribed nominal or desired values. From this comparison, an adjusting signal is generated, which is then provided to the adjusting device, which then automatically moves the backrest (3) and/or the warp stop motion (17) automatically into the respective desired position.

  • Patent number: 6014592
Abstract: A cheese-producing textile machine 1 with a central control unit 37 and a plurality of winding stations 2 which are serviced by an autonomously operating service unit 23. The central control unit 37 of the textile machine 1 is connected via a machine bus 40 with individual winding station computers 39 as well as with a control device 38 of the service unit 23. Control programs A, B, C, D, etc. are stored in the control device 38 of the service unit 23, and are specially adapted to various respective structural configurations of the service unit 23. It is possible in a simple manner to activate the control programs A, B, C, D, etc. in correspondence to the particular prevailing structural configuration of the service unit 23 by means of appropriate software encoding via an input element 41 on the central control unit 23.
