Machining Path Display Patents (Class 700/184)
  • Publication number: 20010043842
Abstract: A method is described for producing embossing plates, in particular steel intaglio printing plates. A plane element is determined from a line drawing, the edge of the plane element defining a desired contour. A tool track is then calculated from the desired contour and a desired depth associated with the plane element, to be used for guiding an engraving tool such that the partial area is removed.

  • Patent number: 6285915
Abstract: A personal computer incorporated in a numerical control device (CNC) has a function for emulating a CNC display circuit. This personal computer emulates a CNC display circuit and converts a transmitted display command A into a video signal for transmission to display means. The numerical control device (CNC) incorporating this personal computer need not to provide a display circuit for each of the CNC body and the personal computer, and, moreover, a switching circuit for selectively receiving the video signals from two display circuits and transmitting selected signal to the display means is not required either. Furthermore, the personal computer has a function for emulating a data input/output circuit of CNC. The personal computer inputs or outputs data transmitted from the CNC or data to be transmitted to the CNC, from or to a data input/output circuit in the personal computer to or from an external input/output device, through an input/output data RAM.

  • Publication number: 20010008982
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of displaying a shape of a material and a shape of a product for a speedy machining simulation. In the machining simulation wherein the shape of the material, the shape of the product, and a shape of a tool are displayed as images on a display unit, and portions of the image of the material and the image of the product overlapping the image of the tool are successively eliminated, the shape of the product in accordance with a portion to be machined is displayed as a line image indicating only an outline of the product, on the other hand, the shape of the material is displayed as a plane image indicating an area in correspondence with a machining allowance, in case that the material includes the portion to be machined which is formed by adding the specified machining allowance to the outline of the product. Therefore, a data input in relation to the shape of the material can be simplified, whereby the speedy machining simulation is enabled.

  • Patent number: 6073058
Abstract: A computer generated graphical position readout device for manually operated milling machines, drill presses, boring machines, lathes, and the like. The readout apparatus includes a means to convert machining requirements into a graphical form, called a pattern, and to display the current and past positions of a milling machine's cutting tool with respect to this pattern. The readout device includes a means to display graphical information, a computer with a keyboard for operator provided data input and control of the operational program, and a position monitoring system to provide relative position information of the machine's cutting tool to a workpiece in multiple axes. The readout device further provides cross-hair type target displays to augment the graphical display for positioning the cutting tool center to a point, or to follow a curved or diagonal line.

  • Patent number: 6018688
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for production control whereby checks for cross contamination removal are made automatically to control whether to load a workpiece into a given working device depending on the work status of that workpiece. A storage unit stores status flags each indicating the work status of the workpiece. The unit also stores either a post-work status flag indicating the work status which the workpiece will be in after status-flag-designated processing by the working device, or a warning flag prohibiting the processing of the workpiece by the working device. A computing unit reads from the storage unit the status flags of the workpiece before the workpiece is loaded into the working device. The computing unit further determines whether the workpiece is suitable for being loaded into the working device in accordance with either the post-work status flag or the warning flag corresponding to the status flags of the workpiece in relation to the working device in question.

  • Patent number: 6009354
Abstract: A sectional rate control unit for an agricultural implement is disclosed herein. The sectional rate control unit is preferably used with a planting system including a planting implement coupled to a work vehicle. The implement includes a frame having at least one section supporting multiple row units which are configured to apply a product (e.g., seed, fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide) to the rows in a field. Each section includes a product delivery apparatus having a target delivery rate controlled by a section application control signal and at least one product channel for delivering an amount of the product to each of the row units. The control unit includes an electronic product sensor coupled to each of the sections and the product channel. The product sensor is configured to generate a product rate signal representative of the amount of the product delivered to the row units. An electronic display located in the cab is configured to generate an image in response to a display signal.
