Publication number: 20110313728Abstract: A fuel-injector-replacement device obtains a learning value of characteristic data of an injector while an engine is running. The learning value stored in an ECU is updated into the learning value. When the engine is stopped, the characteristic data stored in an INJ-EEPROM are updated into the characteristic data stored in the ECU. When the engine is started, it is determined whether the characteristic data stored in the ECU agrees with the characteristic data stored in the INJ-EEPROM. When these data do not agree with each other, it is determined that the fuel-injector is improperly replaced without updating the characteristic data stored in the ECU.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2011Publication date: December 22, 2011Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Kenichiro Nakata, Koji Ishizuka

Publication number: 20110313726Abstract: A condition-based maintenance system having instrumentation for collecting data from one or more wind turbines and having a performance monitor for analyzing the data. Also, the system may have a wind turbine anomaly detector. Information from the performance monitor and the anomaly detector may be used for indicating conditions of the one or more wind turbines. These conditions may be a basis for determining maintenance recommended for any of the wind turbines.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2010Publication date: December 22, 2011Applicant: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Girija Parthasarathy, Onder Uluyol, Wendy Foslien

Patent number: 8082126Abstract: A remote maintenance system has a monitoring computer for monitoring a facility and a monitoring center computer for maintenance management. The monitoring computer has a database for storing image data of the monitored facility. The monitoring center computer a database for storing CAD data for the monitored facility. The monitoring center computer provides coordinates to the image data sent from the monitoring computer, and superposes the image coordinate data and CAD coordinate data for the CAD. The center computer locates a needed maintenance location on the basis of the result of the superposition processing.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2009Date of Patent: December 20, 2011Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Naoyuki Nagafuchi, Hidenori Inoue, Toshihiro Morikawa, Jinichiro Goto, Masatoshi Takada

Publication number: 20110295558Abstract: A method and system is provided for operating an electrical machine. The method includes the steps of, providing a brushless excitation system including a diode rectifier having at least one diode, sensing heat energy generated by at least one resistor connected in parallel with the diode, and detecting a deviation of the generated heat energy from the at least one resistor. Another step generates a signal indicating an error in a diode or a failed or faulty diode if the deviation in generated heat energy exceeds a predetermined threshold deviation level.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2010Publication date: December 1, 2011Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: William Earl Fish, John Harold Parslow, Albert Eugene Steinbach

Patent number: 8069011Abstract: A method for automatically creating a probability of detection (POD) curve of an entire network of transducers monitoring and detecting damage in a structure is based on the POD of each of the individual actuator-sensor paths. These individual path PODs may be generated in different ways, such as by experimentation or simulation. This technique makes it possible to create the POD curve of a structural health monitoring (SHM) system for the detection of damages in structures.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2008Date of Patent: November 29, 2011Assignee: Acellent Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Bao Liu, Fu-Kuo Chang
