Pattern Transformations And Operations Aimed At Increasing System Robustness, E.g., Against Channel Noise, Different Working Conditions, Etc. (epo) Patents (Class 704/E17.014)
  • Patent number: 11900710
Abstract: Some disclosed methods involve controlling a fingerprint sensor system to scan a portion of a user's digit on a surface of an apparatus using a plurality of trial fingerprint sensor system parameters and selecting, from among the trial fingerprint sensor system parameters, one or more personalized fingerprint sensor system parameters for inclusion in a set of personalized fingerprint sensor system parameters. Some disclosed methods involve selecting, based on the one or more personalized fingerprint sensor system parameters, an existing fingerprint sensor system parameter data structure that includes a set of existing fingerprint sensor system parameters, obtaining additional fingerprint sensor system parameters from the set of existing fingerprint sensor system parameters for inclusion in the set of personalized fingerprint sensor system parameters, and storing the set of personalized fingerprint sensor system parameters for future scans of the fingerprint sensor system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptive intelligent noise suppression are provided. In exemplary embodiments, a primary acoustic signal is received. A speech distortion estimate is then determined based on the primary acoustic signal. The speech distortion estimate is used to derive control signals which adjust an enhancement filter. The enhancement filter is used to generate a plurality of gain masks, which may be applied to the primary acoustic signal to generate a noise suppressed signal.

Abstract: A method and system for speaker recognition and identification includes transforming features of a speaker utterance in a first condition state to match a second condition state and provide a transformed utterance. A discriminative criterion is used to generate a transform that maps an utterance to obtain a computed result. The discriminative criterion is maximized over a plurality of speakers to obtain a best transform for recognizing speech and/or identifying a speaker under the second condition state. Speech recognition and speaker identity may be determined by employing the best transform for decoding speech to reduce channel mismatch.

  • Publication number: 20080189104
Abstract: An apparatus for adaptively suppressing noise in an input signal frequency spectrum derived from overlapping input frames is provided. The system includes a psychoacoustic power computation module configured to compute a noisy signal power in psychoacoustic bands, a voice activity scoring module configured to compute a probabilistic score for a presence of a speech, and a noise estimation module configured to estimate a noise power in the psychoacoustic bands based on information of past frames, the probabilistic score, and the computed noisy signal power. The system also includes a gain computation module configured to compute a gain for each frequency, based on a probabilistic heuristic, the probabilistic score and the information on the past frames, and a gain post-processing module configured to perform a gain time smoothing, a gain frequency smoothing, and a gain regulation for the computed gain.
