Abstract: A method and apparatus for EMV terminal device testing using a simulation of a plurality of EMV cards when interacting with an EMV terminal device emulator are described. The method may include establishing, by an EMV card emulator, an interface with the EMV terminal device emulator for the exchange of EMV card present transaction communications between the EMV card emulator and the EMV terminal device emulator. Furthermore, for each of a plurality of simulated EMV cards, the method may include exchanging one or more communications with the EMV terminal device emulator via the interface, wherein each communication simulates a communication generated by a simulated integrated circuit of an EMV card in response to a communication generated by the EMV terminal device emulator, and then causing at least one transaction to be run by the EMV terminal device emulator using the exchange of the one or more communications between the EMV card emulator and the EMV terminal device emulator.

In the case of face-to-face payment, the location information and the payment information are sent to the server through the terminal device of the first user, and the server generates a corresponding payment password and returns the corresponding payment password to the first user. The first user then forwards the payment password (for example, verbally, or forwarding using communication software, etc.) to the second user, and the second user then uploads the location and payment password of the second user to the server. The server performs matching or querying within a certain range based on the location of the second user, to determine whether a same payment password exists. If the matching or query is successful, payment is made.

Abstract: Improvements in a portable vehicle fueling kiosk is disclosed. The kiosk is constructed on a pallet or a skid that allows the kiosk to be placed, located or moved to a location where the fuel dispensing is desired. A fuel tanker that would normally dispense fuel to a storage tank of a gas station is connected to one side of the kiosk. The kiosk accepts payment by nearly any form of money, credit card or token to measure, dispense and bill or invoice the user. The kiosk can have a Wi-Fi or cellular communication to communicate with a user at a distance and can monitor, use, status and remaining fuel in the tanker. If a fuel tanker has been depleted additional tankers can be connected to the kiosk, and when the kiosk is no longer needed it can be transported to another location.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed for processing electronic transactions between a merchant and a consumer based on physical geography. A method includes receiving payment data associated with a consumer payment card; transmitting the payment data, over a network, to a third party; receiving, over the network, information for determining whether a geofence associated with the merchant matches a geofence associated with the consumer; and processing a transaction with the consumer based on whether the consumer geofence ID matches a geofence ID associated with the merchant. Systems for processing electronic transactions between a merchant and a consumer based on physical geography are also disclosed.

The transaction system can be in data communication with a first financial institution that maintains a first account of a consumer and a second financial institution that maintains a second account of the merchant. The transaction system can be maintained by an entity that is different from the merchant, the first financial institution, and the second financial institution. The consumer can use a mobile device at a store of the merchant to pay for one or more items in a transaction. The mobile device can receive a transaction code from a point-of-sale terminal at the store. The transaction code can include a transaction identifier, a payment amount for the transaction, the merchant public identifier, and a digital signature. The transaction code can be verified by the mobile device using the digital signature of the transaction code.

The method further includes causing the transaction receipt to be printed as a printed receipt. The method further includes identifying, by the POS system, a one of the plurality of selectable tip options specified by a customer on the printed receipt. Among other benefits, the disclosed techniques reduce the time and effort the merchant needs to spend on collating the tipping at end of the business day.

Abstract: A method for crediting a customer account maintained by a vendor of services in response to payment received from a customer is disclosed herein. The method includes issuing, to the customer, a membership account number associated with at least the customer account. A membership account number and a payment corresponding to a requested amount of a service offered by the vendor are received from the customer at a point-of-sale. The method further includes generating, at the point-of-sale, an authorization message including at least the membership account number and embedded transaction information identifying the service offered by the vendor and the requested amount. The embedded transaction information is then communicated from the point-of-sale to a database server. The customer account is credited, in response to the embedded transaction information, based upon an amount of the payment.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for changing a financial account after initiating a payment using a proxy object, such as a proxy card, are disclosed. The proxy card is associated with multiple financial accounts, such as accounts associated with credit cards, debit cards, and pre-paid gift cards. A consumer presents the proxy card to a merchant to make a payment, and the merchant swipes the proxy card and processes the payment by sending transaction information to a financial system. A computer system associated with the financial system selects a payment account associated with the proxy card to use for the payment, and an authorization for the transaction is obtained. Later, the consumer is given a limited time within which he may change the financial account used for the payment, such as by using his mobile device to select a different account associated with the proxy card to use to obtain funds for the payment.

In some embodiments, a transaction card may determine a state of the transaction card (e.g., during an interaction with a transaction terminal). Abstract: In one embodiment, a server is provided for providing real-time monitoring of spending limits. The server may include memory storing software instructions, and a processor(s) configured to execute the software instructions to perform operations. The operations may include determining that a user has interacted with a store item in a retail environment. The operations may also include accessing a user profile of the user that includes a savings goal of the user, and determining that purchase of the store item would meet at least one trigger condition associated with the savings goal. The operations may further include generating an analysis of the estimated impact of the purchase to the savings goal, and providing the analysis to a device for display to the user while the user remains within the retail environment.

When a user attempts to initiate an operating cycle, the controller compares the available cycle credits to the number of required cycle credits, and only initiates the operating cycle if the number of available credits is equal to or exceeds the number of required credits. The payment management system may be included in any residential appliance and activated by the owner to enable pay-per-use functionality.

In various embodiments, a customer may direct the host to transfer a payment to a merchant after the customer and merchant exchange a code that includes a payment instruction. The code may be used in place of usernames, passwords, or other personal information and may be difficult for others (e.g., bystanders, etc.) to intercept. After the exchange of the code, the customer may authorize the host to a transfer payment to the merchant based on the payment instruction.

The data processor stores a fragility index which lists objects and different insulations which correspond to the listed objects. In use, shippers input the identification of an object to be shipped into the input device, and place the object on the scale for weight and dimensional determinations. The data processor analyzes the object's weight, fragility and dimensions to select a package and insulation for shipment.

In some embodiments, a computing platform may receive, from a telephone agent support computer system associated with a telephone agent channel, an authentication request for a user account. The computing platform may generate a set of one or more authentication prompts based on a set of authentication rules defined for the telephone agent channel and may provide the set of one or more authentication prompts generated based on the set of authentication rules defined for the telephone agent channel. Subsequently, the computing platform may validate one or more responses to the set of one or more authentication prompts. Based on validating the one or more responses, the computing platform may provide user account information associated with the user account to the telephone agent support computer system associated with the telephone agent channel.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for operating a virtual wallet automatic loading system are described. In an embodiment, a virtual wallet server receives, from a consumer device, automatic-loading parameter data associated with funding a consumer's virtual wallet account, stores the automatic-loading parameter data, determines that at least one trigger condition associated with the consumer's virtual wallet account is met, and generates a standard authorization request message that includes an auto-load transaction amount and at least one payment account number (PAN) of a funding account. The process also includes the virtual wallet server routing the standard authorization message to a payment network authorization system, receiving an authorization response approved message, crediting the consumer's virtual wallet account and incrementing a stored value of the consumer's virtual wallet account, and transmitting an automatic-loading advisement message to the consumer device.

Abstract: A point of sale system includes a merchant terminal and a customer terminal. The merchant terminal is configured to display a user interface (UI) window on the merchant terminal. The UI window on the merchant terminal displays a merchant-specific version of a screen displayed on the customer terminal. The merchant terminal receives updates from the customer terminal regarding the status of the payment portion for a transaction. The merchant terminal can provide an input to the UI window which is sent as a message to the customer terminal. Control of state for the point of sale system is shared such that when the system is in a first state, the merchant terminal is the state control terminal, and when the point of sale system is in a second state, the customer terminal is the state control terminal and has control of state for the system.
