Abstract: Systems and methods for organizing structured items in an e-commerce system are presented. In some aspects, the systems and methods may include a back-end structured item organizing system associated with a front-end category mapping system which is configured to process use case requests. In some aspects, a use case request may identify an item for classification by the back-end structured organizing system. In some aspects, the described systems and methods may select a listing bucket from a set of listing buckets of the back-end structured organizing system based on attribute values indicated in the use case request, and may cause a user interface of the front-end category mapping system to display one or more characteristics associated with items categorized within the selected listing bucket.

Abstract: A taxonomy of categories, attributes, and values can be conflated with new data triplets by identifying one or more conflation candidates among the attribute-value pairs within a category of the taxonomy that matches the category of the data triplet, and determining a suitable merge action for conflating the data triplet with each conflation candidate. The task of determining merge actions may be cast as a classification problem, and may be solved by an ensemble classifier.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards providing a dynamic application environment where separate components of an application can execute on separate processing hardware at any given point in time. A host device monitors current operating characteristics associated with a computing device, such a head unit of an automobile, and based on those characteristics selects which components of one or more applications to execute on the computing device and which components to execute on the host device, if any. The host device provides the selected components to the computing device for execution by the computing device and the host device executes any other components that are not executed by the computing device. The host device monitors the current operating characteristics associated with the computing device, and modifies the selection of which components are executing on which device based on changes in current operating characteristics.

Abstract: A catalog builder is disclosed. This invention relates to data management systems, and more particularly to catalog creation mechanisms in data management systems. Present day data management systems employ catalog builder tools. However, the catalog builders cannot be configured as per the requirements of the users. Further, there are no mechanism to configure custom catalogs and associated metadata. The disclosed catalog builder may be employed to configure an online central repository on the fly and build a catalog. The catalog builder is equipped with a central repository. Further, catalog builder is also provided with advanced search features and analytical capabilities in order to search for the data specified by the user and fetch the data from the central repository. The catalog builder is also provided with clustering and segmentation capabilities in order to slice and dice the data.

Abstract: A method and system of direct mailing in a geo-spatial environment are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes generating a community network of user profiles, each user profile associated with a verified geographic location and at least one of a contact address, associating a first user with a first user profile, selecting a mail mode, selecting a communication, generating a first display view to include a map view embodied by the community network, at least a portion of the user profiles represented at a location in the map view associated with the verified geographic location of the first user profile, selecting a second user profile from the portion of the user profiles, and generating a mailing of the communication, in a format associated with the mail mode, between the first user profile and the contact address associated with the second user profile.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer-readable media for facilitating individualized data alerts are described herein. Information sources may provide data for publication to knowledge professionals. Managerial actions may be performed by an individual or automatically. After the data is published, one or more individualized alerts may be sent to knowledge professionals, such as on a mobile device under control of the knowledge professional, leading to presentation of the pieces of data, along with assigned actions. Knowledge professionals may accept assignment of actions, may re-assign actions, may review actions, and may indicate when actions have been taken. These indications may then be used to update data generators or the data manager, such that future pieces of data and/or individualized alerts may be provided. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system of a campaign in a geo-spatial environment is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes populating each profile of a geo-spatial social network with an address data, forming a group in support of a campaign in the geo-spatial network when a particular user creates the group in support of the campaign and automatically communicating media to a physical location of a member of the group based on the address data associated with each profile of the geo-spatial network. The method may also include automatically creating the group based on a public data associated with each profile of the geo-spatial social network even prior to certain users associated with each profile registering geo-spatial social network by applying the public data to the each profile.

Abstract: Systems and methods for disseminating information pertaining to a reference material or certified reference material are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes the certified reference material and a package containing same, the package comprising a storage medium that stores an information product in a machine-readable format, the information product comprising either a pointer to certified analysis data or the certified analysis data itself. In one embodiment, the method comprises adding a quantity of a certified reference material to a package, incorporating, on the package, a storage medium for storing the information product, and encoding the information product in the storage medium.

Abstract: An asset authoring and delivery system generates a number of authored assets such as Owner's Guides and Maintenance Manuals. Each of the authored assets includes a number of asset content objects that are logically associated with one or more components included in the item of manufacture. The authored assets generated by the asset authoring and delivery system are formatted and communicated to one or more remote devices logically associated with the item of manufacture.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for managing catalog information that can include tracking and reporting search terms used for catalog items searches. According to one embodiment, a procurement application can maintain a log of unique search phrases which returned no search results. For example, the log can maintain records from a specific time period. A count can be maintained to capture how many times a phrase was used for search within the specific time period, and used to rank the frequency of the search phrases. Search phrases that exceed that time period may be purged. The accumulated counts and associated search terms can be provided to the managers periodically and/or upon request in the form of a summary or other graphical and/or textual report or presentation.

The method entails providing the service to the client by a service provider; in the course of providing service to the client, generating a plurality of electronic documents related to the service; storing the plurality of electronic documents in a computer or network system associated with the service provider; transferring the electronic documents to a personalized electronic closing book; and providing the personalized electronic closing book to the client. The personalized electronic closing book may be provided to the client near or after completion of the service to the client. The personalized electronic closing book may include all or the most important documents related to the subject matter associated with the service provided to the client by the service provider. The personalized electronic closing book provides the client an organized and easily-accessible depository of documents generated at the end of a transaction.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of operating a knowledge capture program. The knowledge capture program has the steps of starting the knowledge capture program wherein a user can access content that is either existing content or creating new content. Once the content has been selected then a source subject matter can be selected and displayed, and then captured and incorporated into the content. The source subject matter can be edited and saved into the content. The content can then be retrieved and played in a desired mode of learning.

In one embodiment, the invention can include receiving at a hub records from a first source, receiving at the hub updates of the records from a second source, and transferring the updated records to the first source. In another embodiment, the invention can include transferring to a hub records having information related to items in an electronic catalog and receiving updates of the records from the hub.

Abstract: A method of identifying one or more particular images from an image collection, includes indexing the image collection to provide image descriptors for each image in the image collection such that each image is described by one or more of the image descriptors; receiving a query from a user specifying at least one keyword for an image search; and using the keyword(s) to search a second collection of tagged images to identify co-occurrence keywords. The method further includes using the identified co-occurrence keywords to provide an expanded list of keywords; using the expanded list of keywords to search the image descriptors to identify a set of candidate images satisfying the keywords; grouping the set of candidate images according to at least one of the image descriptors, and selecting one or more representative images from each grouping; and displaying the representative images to the user.

The BSD system uses a discovery engine to create a search methodology used for discovering the configuration information. The discovery engine controls a number of discovery components, each of which includes a definition of a corresponding BSD class model. The BSD system further includes a universal configuration management database (uCMDB) graph engine that creates a uCMDB graph representing a system discovered by the discovery component, and an input module that receives hints and conditions related to one or more elements of the business service, wherein a completed discovery search produces a business service structure.

Product information may additionally or alternatively be obtained or derived based on popularity data. The product information may be cleansed, segmented and normalized. A representative value for an attribute name may be determined, and the on-line catalog may be updated so that entries are comprehensive, meaningful and useful to a catalog user.

Abstract: A system and method for integrating components with processes in a business catalog. The method comprises constructing a composite model of available components on a computer. The composite model defines functional dependencies between the available components. The method further comprises generating, based on the composite model, a plurality of business objects for the available components and automatically generating a synthesized module for each business object. Each synthesized module includes mechanically generated names for services offered by its associated business object. The method also comprises populating a business catalog with the synthesized modules.

Example systems include a listings module to identify an immature product record corresponding to the item for sale. The listings module may determine, from one or more attributes of an item for sale described by the listing, that the item can be matched to an immature product record. A voting module may provide an interface including the first version of the immature product record and an option to select a first version or a second version of the immature product record matching the item. The voting module may further relate the selected version to the item for sale based on a selection by a user, and, in response, update a count of votes for the selected version. When the count of votes meets a threshold, the selected version may become the mature product record for inclusion in a catalog.

The item description identifier is used to query the catalog, which returns the description of the item.

The multiple values are respectively associated with a predetermined set of attributes. Next, the system identifies a multiple application identifiers based on the values that were selected by the seller. Next, the system stores the item information in association with the plurality of application identifiers.
