  • Patent number: 11657078
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for automatically identifying text sections of a document to generate a searchable hierarchical data structure. A computing device receives a document comprising text entities and converts the document from a first format to a second format, including generating metadata associated with text alignment, text position, text spacing, or fonts. The computing device extracts the text blocks, including determining coordinates associated with each text block using the metadata. The computing device determines document sections using the document metadata by identifying strings in the extracted text blocks that indicate a presence of a bullet point in the document, assigns a hierarchical category to each identified document section, and inserts text of each document section into a hierarchical data structure based upon the assigned hierarchical category.

Abstract: To increase the applicability of group-by placement (GBP) transformations, according to embodiments described herein, database objects referred to in the aggregate function expression of a query are analyzed to determine whether any of these database objects are referred to exclusively within a condition check portion of the aggregate function expression. Such database objects may be dealt with differently (i.e., with respect to inclusion in GBP views) than the rest of the database objects referred to in aggregate function expressions of the query. This distinction between (a) aggregation-condition database objects exclusively found in condition check portions of an aggregate function expression and (b) aggregation-source database objects within an aggregate function expression allows application of GBP transformation to a wider variety of queries and also increases the possible GBP states that can be costed for GBP transformation-eligible queries.

Abstract: A database-management system provides sargable evaluation for query predicates that compare an “LHS” encrypted database-column operand to an “RHS” expression operand. The system directly compares the two operands if all their attributes match. If the operands are encrypted string-type values differing only in length, the system truncates the RHS or pads it with encrypted blanks and, if a truncation loses meaningful data, evaluates the predicate as never satisfying an equality condition. In all other cases, if all attributes of a plaintext RHS don't match those of the plaintext data encoded into the LHS column, the system attempts to cast the RHS to match the plaintext LHS data. An error condition or data loss at this step allows the system to sargably evaluate the predicate without further analysis, but if the casting is successful and error-free, the system encrypts the resulting RHS and performs a sargable predicate evaluation.

Abstract: An analysis system connects to a set of data sources and perform natural language questions based on the data sources. The analysis system connects with the data sources and retrieves metadata describing data assets stored in each data source. The analysis system generates an execution plan for the natural language question. The analysis system finds data assets that match the received question based on the metadata. The analysis system ranks the data assets and presents the ranked data assets to users for allowing users to modify the execution plan. The analysis system may use execution plans of previously stored questions for executing new questions. The analysis system supports selective preprocessing of data to increase the data quality.

  • Patent number: 11610062
Abstract: A label assignment model generation device extracts a plurality of feature amounts for a word from a document as an extraction source, and generates, based on an appearance frequency of each of the extracted feature amounts, a label assignment model that is a machine learning model and assigns a label to a word included in a document as an assignment target. The label assignment model generation device adjusts a degree of influence of the feature amount on the label assignment model based on a deviation of the appearance frequency of each of the plurality of feature amounts. The label assignment model generation device extracts a plurality of feature amounts for a word from a remaining document excluding a predetermined document from a plurality of documents as extraction sources, and generates the label assignment model based on the appearance frequency of the extracted feature amounts.

  • Patent number: 11610074
Abstract: In a computer-implemented method and associated tangible non-transitory computer-readable medium, an image of a damaged vehicle may be analyzed to generate a repair estimate. A dataset populated with digital images of damaged vehicles and associated claim data may be used to train a deep learning neural network to learn damaged vehicle image characteristics that are predictive of claim data characteristics, and a predictive similarity model may be generated. Using the predictive similarity model, one or more similarity scores may be generated for a digital image of a newly damaged vehicle, indicating its similarity to one or more digital images of damaged vehicles with known damage level, repair time, and/or repair cost. A repair estimate may be generated for the newly damaged vehicle based on the claim data associated with images that are most similar to the image of the newly damaged vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11605025
Abstract: As a data science project goes into the production stage, model maintenance to maintain model quality and predictive accuracy becomes a concern. Manual model maintenance by data scientists can become a time- and labor-intensive process, especially for large scale data science projects. An early warning system addresses this by performing systematic statistical and algorithmic checks for prediction accuracy, stability, and model assumption validity. A diagnostic report is generated that helps data scientists to assess the health of the model and identify sources of error as needed. Well-performing models can be automatically deployed without further human intervention while poor performing models trigger a warning or alert to the data scientists for further investigation and may be removed from production until the performance issues are addressed.

  • Patent number: 11604780
Abstract: The current document is directed to methods and subsystems within computing systems, including distributed computing systems that efficiently store metric data by approximating a sequence of time-associated data values with one or more linear functions. In a described implementation, a running variability metric is used to control variation within the metric data with respect to the approximating linear functions, with a variation threshold employed to maximize the number of data points represented by a given linear function while ensuring that the variation of the data with respect to the given linear function does not exceed a threshold value. In one implementation, the metric data occurs within a graph-like configuration-management-database representation of the current state of a computer system.
