  • Patent number: 8758474
Abstract: A urea fertilizer having reduced ammonia volatilization upon application to soil including a central particle having an outer surface and comprising ammonia volatilization inhibiting compounds containing one or more of boron and iodine, and a coating of urea on the outer surface of the central particle, and further a process of making the fertilizer including the steps of: granulating ammonia volatilization inhibiting compounds containing one or more of boron and iodine, with a binder to produce volatilization inhibitor particles; screening the inhibitor particles to a preselected particle size; spraying melted urea onto the surface of the inhibitor particles to produce a coating on the inhibitor particles; granulating the coated inhibitor particles with sprayed melted urea to produce granules of urea coated central volatilization particles; and cooling the granules.

  • Patent number: 8575212
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method of making a mineral product. The method includes contacting a carboxylic acid and an inorganic mineral compound sufficient to form a solution, reacting the solution over a period of time sufficient to provide a mineral chelated compound, transferring the mineral chelated compound to one or more molds prior to the compound substantially solidifying and reducing the size of the mineral chelated compound sufficient to provide a rapidly soluble mineral chelated product.

  • Patent number: 8465680
Abstract: Provided is a method for pelleting spherical fine particle of sodium nitrate, which comprises the following steps: 1) melting industrial sodium nitrate in a salt melting furnace, introducing into a high-level insulation buffer tank, placing in an atomizer located on top of the pelleting tower, atomizing to obtain fog droplets with size of 30 ?m-0.5 mm; 2) introducing freeze-dried high-pressure air into the pelleting tower in a tangent direction from the upper inlet pipe of the tower, so that the sodium nitrate fog droplets obtained in step 1) fall spirally along the wall in the pelleting tower, to obtain sodium nitrate particle; 3) collecting the cooled sodium nitrate particle at the bottom of the tower, and packaging. Sodium nitrate particle with lower water content, higher roundness, and smaller size can be obtained, and continuous production can be realized by the method.

  • Patent number: 8197729
Abstract: A granulator, having a granulation unit having a bottom floor with a perforated plate as its bottom part; an upper air-supplying pipe for supplying a fluidizing air to the bottom floor of the granulation unit; a lower air-supplying pipe; air-spouting pipes, each of which is branched from the lower air-supplying pipe, and has an opening in the bottom floor of the perforated plate, for jetting the air into the granulation unit; and spray nozzles for spraying a granulation raw material liquid, which each are provided in the center of an air outlet of the air-spouting pipe, or a granulator, having: the bottom floor; the air-supplying pipe; and spray nozzles for spraying a granulation raw material liquid each of which are provided in an opening in the bottom floor of the perforated plate, and use a high-pressure atomizing air as an auxiliary gas, wherein, in each granulator, the spray nozzles are provided in a triangular arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6425933
Abstract: Organic fertilizer produced from raw manure, and systems and methods related to the production thereof. A high-velocity air stream is injected into at least one substantially-closed chamber, where it interacts with a supply of raw manure; the raw manure can be bovine or other animal waste products. The high-velocity air stream pulverizes and dries the raw manure, whereby an end product having a moisture content substantially less than the initial moisture content and a live bacteria content substantially equal to the initial live bacteria content of the raw manure is produced. In a preferred embodiment, a cyclonic comminution apparatus is used to pulverize and dry the raw manure; alternatively, a first cyclonic comminution apparatus can be used to substantially pulverize the raw manure and a second cyclonic comminution apparatus can be used to substantially dry the raw manure.

  • Patent number: 6391238
Abstract: Raw material of algae cultivating medium molded body is manufactured by mixing a mixture containing inorganic material, curing material and algae cultivating nutriment, molding the mixture to molded bodies and curing the molded bodies. The molded bodies are manufactured such that the molded bodies are water floatable having a closed cavity inside the body, or containing density decreasing material for example. The manufacturing method enables to produce algae cultivating medium that can float on water in a large quantity. Industrial waste such as coal ashes and incineration ashes, sands and crushed shells can be used as the inorganic raw material of the medium. As the curing material which solidify the molded body, other than cement, algae cultivating nutriment such as phosphorus compounds can be used. Extrusion molding can favorably be applied for molding molded body. A cylindrically molded body can be sealed the both edges thereof to form a cavity portion inside thereof.
