Abstract: Communication is performed more reliably. A CCI (I3C DDR) processing section determines status of an index when requested to be accessed by an I3C master for a read operation. An error handling section then controls an I3C slave 13 to detect occurrence of an error based on the status of the index and to neglect all communication until DDR mode is stopped or restarted by the I3C master, the I3C slave 13 being further controlled to send a NACK response when performing acknowledge processing on a signal sent from the I3C master. This technology can be applied to the I3C bus, for example.

  • Patent number: 10637930
Abstract: Medical devices and other modules configured in local computing environments can be detected, remotely managed, and integrated with a web application hosted on a server using standard communication protocols and a local agent. Such modules can include hardware devices, such as electrocardiograph (ECG) machines, centrifuges and the like, and/or software modules, such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The modules can be detected by a web browser receiving input which can be configured to be initiated by a sensor and/or Application Program Interface (API). Abstract: A real-time traffic management system comprising a main light controller module configured to monitor and control functionality of one or more traffic lights, a master control unit server software application, a network operations control module, and a network watcher application program. The main light controller module communicates with one or more coordinating light controller modules, onsite personnel, and a network operations center. The main light controller uses a camera that detects instances of vehicle demand and provides live images for situational awareness. The main light controller module comprises a global positioning satellite receiver and a light sensor for monitoring ambient lighting conditions. The network watcher application program continuously scans incoming data, monitors performance of all components in the system, and issues alerts and alarms to notify personnel of events or conditions outside of established tolerances.

Abstract: A system and corresponding method for transferring data via an interface assembly is provided. The data is transferred between a USB port of a first device and a media port of a second device. Uncompressed high definition media data may be received from the USB port. The received uncompressed high definition media data may be supplied to a media connector in accordance with a first media standard, such that the supplied data can be transmitted in accordance with the first media standard via the media connector to the media port of the second device. The uncompressed high definition media data may include multimedia data and side-band communication data. A single signal may be encoded and decoded in accordance with a protocol that enables the single signal to communicate all side-band communications to and from the source device via a single pin of a USB connector.

  • Patent number: 8806093
Abstract: To address the need for efficient and reliable testing of integrated devices, system on chips, and computers, deterministic behavior for an interface is accomplished by fixing variation in latency associated with receiver and transmitter data stream. The interface may be a serial interface that is PCIe compliant and corrects latency variations in the receiver that consequently results in deterministic transmit data. Consequently, the data received and/or transmitted is predictable with respect to time and facilitates testing and validation of the devices and logic associated with the interface.

Abstract: A memory device includes a memory array, an output buffer, an initial latency register, and an output signal. Often times a host device that interfaces with the memory device is clocked at high rate such that data extraction rates of the memory device are not adequate to support a gapless data transfer. The output signal is operable to stall a transmission between the memory device and the host device when data extraction rates from the memory array are not adequate to support output rates of the output buffer.

  • Patent number: 8782302
Abstract: A node having a node input is configured to receive a plurality of transactions intended for a plurality of different targets. The node has multiple node outputs. At least one target is provided, that target including an input configured to receive a respective output of the node. The node is configured to direct transactions to the at least one target or an output (for passing to a different partition) depending on whether the transactions are intended for the target or a different target. This determination is made in response to a conversion operation which converts a target address of the transaction to an identification associated with the target or the output.

Abstract: The present invention presents apparatuses and systems for operating multiple computers from a single console using a secured KVM device, while preventing information leakage between the computers. The system comprises several hosts connected through a secured KVM device to keyboard and mouse and one or more user displays. Secured KVM enables standard bi-directional communication between Secured KVM and user keyboard and mouse and between hosts peripheral ports and Secured KVM. Secured KVM physically enforces unidirectional data flow from attached keyboard and mouse to attached hosts peripheral ports to avoid potential leakages between hosts.

Abstract: An electronic Input/Output Interface and device abstraction system used in gaming machines includes: a game central processing unit (game “CPU”); an intelligent input/output controller board (“IOCB”); an Industry Standard Architecture PC bus (“ISA” bus); and a framed message transport protocol. The IOCB facilitates communications between the game CPU and virtual device services, which are peripheral devices associated with the gaming system. The game CPU communicates to gaming peripherals by sending virtual device messages across the ISA bus to the IOCB. The IOCB routes virtual device messages to appropriate virtual device services. Virtual device services are responsible for handling specific hardware, and include virtual device drivers on the game CPU that communicate with virtual devices on the IOCB. Use of the IOCB and the high speed interface enables the game CPU to use more of its available functions for controlling gaming functions rather than one operation of its associated peripheral devices.
