Abstract: A wireless device (300, 400), e.g., a wireless communication device (e.g., a UE) or a network node (e.g., an eNB) having a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer (410) and a physical (PHY) layer (430) configured to send/resend transmissions is presented herein. The MAC layer (410) sends transmissions to the PHY layer (430) for transmitting, by the PHY layer (430), to a remote wireless device (300, 400). The PHY layer (430) receives the transmission from the MAC layer (410), and attempts to send the transmission. The PHY layer (430) further indicates to the MAC layer (410) whether the attempt to send the transmission, by the PHY layer (430), was successful. Responsive to the indication, the MAC layer (410) determines whether the attempt, by the PHY layer (430), to send the transmission was successful. The MAC layer (410) then selectively indicates to the PHY layer (430) whether to attempt to resend the transmission responsive to the determination.

Abstract: An application update system performs staged rollouts to push new versions or features of applications to users quickly and with minimal negative impact to the users. The application update system allocates users of an application to populations. The populations specify a subset of users to receive a feature update for the application. The application update system performs a staged rollout of the feature update by iteratively pushing the feature update to the identified subset of users, monitoring the performance of the feature update, and, based on the performance, the application update system reallocates users to populations. For example, when the feature update performs successfully, the application update system allocates additional users to receive the feature update. When all users of the application have received the feature update, the staged rollout is designated as complete.

  • Patent number: 11211946
Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to encoding information and decoding information. In some aspects, the disclosure relates to an encoder and a decoder for Polar codes with HARQ. If a first transmission of the encoder fails, information bits associated with a lower quality channel may be retransmitted. At the decoder, the resulting decoded retransmitted bits may be used to decode the first transmission by substituting the retransmitted bits for the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, to decode the first transmission, soft-combining is applied to the decoded retransmitted bits and the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, CRC bits for a first transmission may be split between a first subset of bits and a second subset of bits. In this case, the second subset of bits and the associated CRC bits may be used for a second transmission (e.g., a retransmission).

A communication device obtains an information bit sequence of a bit length K and a code length M. When M is greater than or equal to a first threshold and K is greater than or equal to a second threshold, the device divides the information bit sequence into p subsequences that are of an equal length K1. Then the device encodes each of the p subsequence to obtain p encoded subsequences. The device rate-matches each of the p encoded subsequences to obtain p rate matched subsequences, concatenates the p rate matched subsequences to obtain the output sequence of the code length M, then outputs the output sequence.

Abstract: In accordance with one or more embodiments, an access point includes a first communication interface that receives, first guided electromagnetic waves from a first waveguide system wherein the first guided electromagnetic waves convey a first plurality of resource blocks containing first data. A data switch selects first selected portions of the first data corresponding to a first subset of the first plurality of resource blocks for transmission to at least one communication device in proximity to the access point and select second selected portions of the first data corresponding to a second subset of the first plurality of resource blocks by omitting the first subset from the first plurality of resource blocks. Abstract: Techniques are described herein for improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support procedures for configured grants. Generally, the described techniques may relate to restricting a number of retransmissions used during a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process or managing potential scheduling conflicts for the HARQ process from dynamic grants and configured grants. A device (e.g., a user equipment) may initiate a timer or a counter associated with a HARQ process for indicating that transmission attempts for the HARQ process are permitted. The device may identify a transmission occasion of a configured grant in an unlicensed frequency spectrum band that is associated with the HARQ process and may determine that the timer associated with the HARQ process is active. The device may perform a transmission attempt over the transmission occasion of the configured grant based on determining that the timer is active.
