Abstract: In general, a minimum determination capability, adapted for determining one or more minimum values from a set of values, is provided. The minimum determination capability may enable, for a set of values, determination of a first minimum value representing a smallest value of the set of values and a second minimum value representing an approximation of a next-smallest value of the set of values. The minimum determination capability may enable, for a set of values where each of the values is represented as a respective set of bits at a respective set of bit positions, determination of a minimum value of the set of values based on a set of bitwise comparisons performed for the respective bit positions of the values.

  • Patent number: 9936052
Abstract: A method of operating a wireless ad hoc network includes configuring an intermediate device with a first linear network code corresponding to a first source device and a second linear network code corresponding to a second source device. The intermediate device is on communication paths from the first source device and the second source device to a plurality of destination devices. The intermediate device receives packet data from either the first source device or from the second source device, and determines whether to apply the first linear network code or the second linear network code to the packet data. The intermediate device generates outgoing packet data and sends the packet data to at least one destination device of the plurality of destination devices using either the first linear network code or the second linear network code.

  • Patent number: 9894351
Abstract: The invention presents a new NR-H method for assessment of packet loss visibility measure for a video sequence, where the measure is indicative of the effect on the perceptual quality of the video. Packet loss can occur as a result of the video being transmitted over an imperfect network. The invention combines dynamic modelling of temporal and spatial properties of the decoded pictures with bitstream information revealing location, extent and propagation of any errors. Analysis is performed on blocks of pixels, and preferably the macroblocks defined in the particular video encoding scheme. Knowledge of the error extent from the bitstream information is used to target spatial analysis around the specific error locations. Perceptual impact is estimated by utilizing spatio-temporal modelling to predict the properties of a missing block, and comparing those predictions with the actual properties of the missing block.

  • Patent number: 9891985
Abstract: A parser and checksum circuit includes a 256-bit data bus, IPV4, IPV6, TCP, and UDP state signal buses, a checksum summer and compare circuit, four 64-bit parsing circuits, a V6 extension processor, and a parse state context circuit. Each of the 64-bit parsing circuits includes two 32-bit parsing circuits. The data bus receives a data signal that is part of a packet. IPV4, IPV6, TCP, and UDP state signals are each configurable into 1-hot states where at most 1-bit is digital logic high. Each of the 1-hot states corresponds to a segment of a packet header of one of the IPV4, IPV6, TCP, and UDP protocols. Each 32-bit parsing circuit receives a 1-bit shifted version of the state signals received by the adjacent 32-bit parsing circuit and receives a portion of the data signal. State signals and the data signal portion are received in parallel during a single clock cycle.

  • Patent number: 9887804
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and systems for detecting lane errors and removing errant lanes in multi-lane links. Data comprising link packets is split into a plurality of bitstreams and transmitted over respective lanes of a multi-lane link in parallel. The bitstream data is received at multiple receive lanes of a receiver port and processed to reassemble link packets and to calculate a CRC over the data received on each lane. The link packets include a transmitted CRC that is compared to a received CRC to detect link packet errors. Upon detection of a link packet error, per-lane or per transfer group CRC values are stored, and a retry request is issued to retransmit the bad packet. In conjunction with receipt of the retransmitted packet, per-lane or per transfer group CRC values are recalculated over the received data and compared with the stored per-lane or per transfer group CRC values to detect the lane causing the link packet error.
