Abstract: A data transmission device transmits coded packets and a code for decoding the coded packets to a receiving device. The data transmission device retransmits the coded packets and the code to the receiving device when failing to receive feedback information on a decoding success state of the coded packets from the receiving device. Accordingly, the data transmission device can increase the radio resource efficiency in the wireless communication system.

Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a transmitting side equipped with a microcomputer for control, for transmitting data and also includes a receiving side for receiving data. To prevent the receiving side from receiving identical data more than once, a sequence number is automatically incremented every time a frame of transmit data is transmitted. The sequence number is transmitted together with the data. The next process is performed if it is determined that transmission is correctly performed, or the data is transmitted again without incrementing the sequence number if it is determined that the transmission is not correctly performed. The sequence number is returned to an initial value when the microcomputer for control is reset, and dummy data is transmitted together with the initial value immediately after a reset. The data is transmitted together with an incremented sequence number after transmission of the dummy data.

Abstract: In a mobile communication system, when a receiving condition is deteriorated to the extent that reception does not succeed even by means of combination after retransmission to the maximum number of retransmissions, a transmission rate is restricted by reducing radio frames assignable to new data, and by setting dedicated retransmission frames, to which retransmission data are assignable, over the maximum number of retransmissions for the reduced transmission rate, thereby enabling a greater number of retransmissions than the maximum number of retransmissions without an increase of a buffer size. By this, a combination gain through retransmission is improved and a retransmission failure rate is decreased.

When an interference signal addressed to another user equipment (UE2) 200b has been demodulated successfully, a user equipment (UE1) 200a holds the demodulated data pertaining to the interference signal, and feeds back ACK information about the UE2 and CQI information achieved after elimination of the interference signal to a radio base station (BS) 100. When the UE2 performs retransmission after ended in a receiving failure and when the UE1 has demodulated the interference signal addressed to the UE2 successfully, the BS changes the distribution of communication resources in such a way that communication resources for the UE2 become larger than those for the UE1.

Different transmissions in one HARQ process adopt different bit interleavers or different symbol-to-sub-carrier mapping methods so as to realize that the same bit of different transmissions in one HARQ process is transmitted via different sub-carriers. Therefore, the system achieves the frequency diversity gain and reduces the probability of failure of HARQ transmission caused by that some bits are always transmitted via the sub-carrier with the same deep fading. The LDPC codes can have associated constraints allowing the codes to be error corrected upon receipt. The requests for incremented codes can be in cases of low transmission power or high interference, for example, where the original code can be too error-ridden to properly decode. In this case, additional nodes can be added to current and/or subsequent communications to facilitate adding a more complex constraint to the LDPC code. In this regard, the large codes can require less validly transmitted nodes to predict error-ridden values as the additional constraint renders less ambiguity in possible node value choices.

Abstract: A pilot reception power measuring section measures reception power of a pilot symbol and a data section reception power prediction section predicts reception power of data symbols based on the reception power of the pilot symbol. A power comparison section calculates a difference between this predicted value and the actual reception power of the data symbol, and when the difference is large, a collision position detection section regards the data symbol at the hopping position as colliding with data symbols in other cells. Then, an error correcting decoding section carries out error correcting processing by reducing likelihood of the data symbols detected to be involved in the collision and can thereby improve the error rate characteristic of decoded data.

Abstract: A first loss determination section 13 of a first communication device 10 determines that a data unit is lost if an acknowledgment response for the transmitted data unit from a second communication device 30 is not received within a predetermined time and retransmits the data unit when the determination is made. When a determination section 16 determines that a spurious timeout has occurred, a window control section 17 sets a target value for decreasing the size of a congestion window and then gradually decreases the size of the congestion window to the target value when the acknowledgment response is received. Therefore, in a case of executing a response algorithm for changing a slow start threshold and the congestion window, if a segment loss occurs subsequent to the spurious timeout, an efficient loss recovery is achieved and the throughput is improved.

Abstract: Management server 16 may obtain application programs from content server 20 in response to requests of mobile terminal 11. Management server 16 may transmit the obtained application programs to mobile terminal 11 with information concerning reliabilities of the application programs. After mobile terminal 11 receives the application programs from management server 16, mobile terminal 11 manages operations of the application programs. Operations of the application programs are coordinated with operations of other programs using the information concerning the reliabilities corresponding to the application programs. Management of the coordinated operations of the application programs avoids problems concerning information security, where valuable information may be distributed unexpectedly because of operations of low reliable application programs. As a result, convenience of users of mobile terminals 11 can be improved without deteriorating the information security of mobile terminals 11.

Abstract: A turbo coded hybrid ARQ with both IR and repetition existing in one or more transmission blocks is designed. The mixed combining is performed at the receiver—Chase combining is performed for the repetitions first, followed by code combining for all code bits based on Chase combining outputs. The packet error probability is obtained by applying the union-Bhattacharyya (UB) bound for parallel channels. The throughput optimization of hybrid ARQ is determined as well as the optimal assignment rates by solving the optimization using a genetic algorithm.
