The method also includes generating a document by the at least one of the plurality of entities based, at least in part, on the at least one master template using entity-specific data associated with the at least one of the plurality of entities for the data type associated with the at least one template area.

Abstract: Methods for generating a publication view of a handheld calculator document is provided. One method includes assigning a first page of a document to a first cell of a sheet in a publication view, wherein the sheet is logically divided into a plurality of cells arranged in a grid, and wherein the first page includes at least one application executable on a handheld calculator, formatting the first cell responsive to user-specified format changes, and saving the publication view of the document, wherein formatting information for the first cell is saved in association with the document. Another method includes opening a document in a publication view, wherein pages of the document are automatically assigned to cells in a grid in a sheet, formatting cells responsive to user-specified format changes, and saving the publication view of the document, wherein formatting information for the cells is saved in association with the document.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, terminal, and computer program for presenting a markup language document which contains a frameset. The method comprises the steps of interpreting the instructions in the document so that no scrollbars are displayed in the individual frames. The frames may be displayed in a reformatted manner, e.g., with expanded dimensions and/or reformatted contents. Such reformatting of the displayed frames does not require any revision of the markup language document.

The selection is facilitated by content targeting data (e.g., feature selection and query submission) that can be received from user devices while the map space is presented.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for providing a set of placement options to a user when a new report object is requested to be placed in an area of the report are described herein. One or more existing report objects are associated with the area of the report. The set of placement options are determined based on at least one of the following: area type of the area in which the new report object is requested to be placed and a semantic relationship between the new report object and the one or more existing report objects. In one embodiment, the area of the report includes a sub-area. The set of placement options for a sub-area is determined based on the semantic relationship of new report objects and the existing report objects associated with the area and the sub-area.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method that efficiently designs a document. The method provides the user with a selection of templates, each with a default configuration for content. The method provides the user with a selection of page designs to add to a selected template. The method adds a selected page design to a document that is based on the selected template. Some embodiments provide methods for modifying default content of template documents with default text fields. When a user selects a default text field, the method of some embodiments selects the entire default text field for editing by the user. In some embodiments, the method highlights a text field selected by the user. Also, in some embodiments, the method deletes the content of the text field when the user provides new content for the selected field. In some embodiments, the new content is text, image, or another type of content.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method that efficiently designs a document. The method provides the user with a selection of templates, each with a default configuration for content. The method provides the user with a selection of page designs to add to a selected template. The method adds a selected page design to a document that is based on the selected template. Some embodiments provide methods for modifying default content of template documents with default text fields. When a user selects a default text field, the method of some embodiments selects the entire default text field for editing by the user. Also, in some embodiments, the method deletes the content of the text field when the user provides new content for the selected field. Abstract: An information processing apparatus for processing documents of multiple kinds generated by applications of multiple kinds includes a data processing unit configured to process the documents of multiple kinds; a determining unit configured to execute a validity period management program in response to a request to the data processing unit to process one document among the documents of multiple kinds to determine whether the request is within a validity period associated with a content item in the document; and a switching unit configured to switch the content item that is referred to and that is to be processed by the data processing unit between when the determining unit determines that the content is not within the validity period and when the determining unit determines that the content is within the validity period.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating color corrected digital image data from a document image according to personal preferences of an identified user of the digital image copy. A color correction profile is provided defining color correction parameters for a particular identified user. The digital image copy is generated in accordance with the color correction profile by replacing problematic colors with alternate presentations as defined by the color correction parameters. The alternate presentations may include corrections to compensate for colorblindness of an identified user. The document image may be logically segmented to identify objects associated with each of a plurality of segments of the document image such as text, graphics, photographic images, etc. The color correction profile may define different color correction parameters to be associated with each defined type of segment.

Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, when an output image generator generates an output image in which an individual image of each part of a product model is arranged around a parts assembly image of the entire product model with a specific part highlighted, a boundary information calculator calculates boundary information for each part highlighted. An individual image arrangement calculator obtains a center position of the highlighted part on the parts assembly image based on the boundary information, obtains a straight line dividing the parts assembly image to equally distribute the parts into respective areas, and calculates a position of arrangement of the individual image of each part corresponding to the highlighted part distributed in each of the areas. The output image generated by the output image generator includes a leading line extending from the individual image of each part to the corresponding part on the parts assembly image.

Abstract: There is provided a computer implemented method of automatically aggregating multiple print jobs. The method includes: storing, in memory, a first print job group complying with a first set of print job aggregation criteria and a second print job group complying with a second set of print job aggregation criteria. A print job is received and at least a part of the received print job is aggregated with the first print job group to form a first aggregated print job set if the received print job complies with the first set of print job aggregation criteria and one of a set of release criteria is met. At least a part of the received print job is aggregated with the second print job group to form a second aggregated print job set if the received print job complies with the second set of print job aggregation criteria and one of a set of release criteria is met.

Abstract: A text processing system includes a location module, an obtaining module, a first processing module, a second processing module and a presenting module. The location module determines a text area with a fixed height and a fixed width on a screen. The obtaining module obtains an original text having a plurality of characters with one or more font sizes from a particular source. The first processing module determines presentable text of the original text that the text area can accommodate. The second processing module replaces the last one or more characters of the presentable text with one or more predetermined characters when the presentable text is less than the original text. The presenting module presents the edited presentable text in the text area.

Abstract: A system and method for page frame detection for pages of a document are disclosed. The method includes receiving a set of document pages for a document, each page having at least one detected object. For each page in the set, the method includes determining dimensions of bounding box which encompasses the detected objects of the page and determining margin dimensions, based on a position of the bounding box on the page. A page frame is computed as a combination of bounding box dimensions and margin dimensions, based on frequencies of the bounding box dimensions and margin dimensions computed for the set of pages. The computed page frame is matched to pages of the document. Information based on the matching, such as content of text objects within the matched page frame, can be output.

Abstract: Identifying panel types of elements for display on a computing device. Documents such as web pages have a layout for the elements with some elements positioned in the header, footer, and sidebar regions of the document. A browser or other application receives the elements for display (e.g., on a mobile computing device) and analyzes each of the elements to define header, footer, sidebar, and content regions. The panel types are assigned based on the region in which the element resides. Aspects of the disclosure enable manipulation of the elements by, for example, presenting the elements corresponding to content panels, centering the web page within a display area on the computing device, and preventing advertisements from being displayed.

Abstract: Dynamically selecting which properties to display for a group of resources is provided. A selection of a group of resources is received to be viewed in a graphical user interface. A determination is made as to whether the group of resources is one of a plurality of previously saved groups of resources. Responsive to the group of resources being one of the plurality of previously saved groups of resources, a determination is made as to whether the previously saved group of resources has an associated saved group of properties. Responsive to the previously saved group of resources having the associated saved group of properties, a table is generated that comprises the previously saved group of resources and the associated saved group of properties. The table is then displayed to a user via a graphical user interface.

Abstract: An information processing device includes an acquiring unit, a reducing unit, and an outputting unit. The acquiring unit acquires at least two files each including a page on which at least one of character and image is carried. The reducing unit generates a reduced-size page. If the file includes a plurality of pages, the reducing unit reduces size of the plurality of pages. The outputting unit outputs the plurality of reduced-size pages generated from at least two files.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for client-side interacting with a server-side web application in a web-based client-server environment, in which a client-side web browser is used as a user interface for displaying web pages sent by the web application within a browser application frame and for converting events triggered by one or more user actions within said application frame into a request directed to said server-side web application, wherein an executable program object for example a Java Script is used at the client side as a part of the client-side web application user interface. In order to improve the user interface it is proposed to use an additional frame in the browser which communicates with the server and which prevents the displayed document from being reloaded when the server sends its response. Instead, only delta information (50) is displayed within the frame.

Abstract: Systems and methods of recognizing a business document and creating a document signature. In one embodiment, a business document is scanned and a business document image is created. The business document image is compared to a template database. If a matching template is found, document fields are defined and extracted. If no matching document template is found, the document image is compared to a skeleton database. If a matching document skeleton in found, document fields are defined and extracted. A document skeleton is generated and then stored in the template database. If no matching document skeletons are found in the skeleton database, document fields are manually extracted. A document skeleton is then generated from the identification of static and variable strings and stored in the skeleton database. Document fields are validated after all document fields have been extracted.

Abstract: A great difficulty, for example, is to arrange and display inconsistent and uncontrolled metafiles having weak structures, as they are found on YouTube, for example. This is due, among other things, to the fact that no uniform ontology or editorial processing of the metafiles is provided for. In addition, it is also not possible to produce algorithmically generated consistent ontologies. The invention therefore relates to a navigation device for arranging entities in a data space, wherein the navigation device comprises a distribution unit and a display unit, and the display unit shows a rigid, geometrical grid, wherein the distribution unit determines and displays preferential entities. In this way, the chaos in the metafiles is removed by structuring, and navigation in the data space is enabled.

Abstract: A method and system in a document viewing control for laying out an invisible page grid based on various criteria, including whether the pages of a document are fixed, contain reflowable content, whether the fixed pages are all the same size, and where the user has actively focused a page when a new layout needs to be generated, which may be anytime a user changes the number of pages to display. Upon such a change, a mechanism determines page sizes based on whether the focused page has flow or fixed content. A layout mechanism computes the grid based on the number of pages (columns) to display across. For documents with mixed-sized and/or mixed flow and fixed pages, rows of the grid are determined from the active page to the start of the document, and from the active page's row to the end of the document. The grid provides consistent viewing results.

Abstract: A region used as a reference for laying out objects selected on a page is set as a closed region within a predetermined region so as not to include an unselected object. The closed region is enlarged until it contacts on either an object that exists outside the closed region and is not selected or an edge of the predetermined region, and the enlarged closed region is determined as a layout region. A template into which the selected objects can be laid out is retrieved from multiple pre-stored templates, and the selected objects are embedded into the retrieved template.

Abstract: A system and method for providing management such as creation, manipulation, storage, control, and retrieval of digital content for a company on a global basis. Digital content is created and stored in, for example, the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format using the relationship between component mapping information and content information comprising webpage components. The XML data is developed by defining page components, mapping the components on a page and indexing the page for future retrieval of the page. The data is then stored in a single database, as segments related to the page, for call-up by a user.

Abstract: Methods and systems for customized remote access to imaging node front panels offer improvements in the areas of unified access, on-screen viewing and comprehension of front panels delivered by diverse imaging nodes to remote client nodes. The imaging nodes may be diverse, for example, in terms of message formats used to deliver front panel data, screen resolution assumptions implicit in front panel data and languages in which front panel data are delivered. Customization is provided, in some embodiments, by a server node that intermediates between the imaging nodes and the client nodes.

The digital content objects placed on the dynamic page template are algorithmically manipulated one or more times to change sizes and/or locations of one or more of the digital content objects. The dynamic page template is then output.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mounting memorabilia in a manner that provides enhanced opportunity for the creative involvement of users. A page layout template is used as a basis for creating a page layout to which design elements are attached. The page layout is a pre-designed template that is configured to be selectively rotated and/or swapped to provide a refreshing theme and/or look, and can be used to more effectively utilize the memorabilia available for mounting and/or storage. The ability to rotate and/or swap the templates enables the ability of a user to reuse pre-established templates to create new looks and presentations. In addition, colors and/or objects can be added to enhance the themes. In one implementation, the templates include two templates per presentation. Each of the templates can be selectively rotated and/or swapped with another template to provide a refreshing theme and/or look, and can be used to more effectively utilize the memorabilia available for mounting and/or storage.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a computer-based application that allows its users to insert their pictures in a variety of different photo album books (called photo books below). Each photo book has several pages that have one or more picture fields for presenting pictures. Different photo books can differ in their size, themes, covers, page designs, page colors, picture-field designs, picture-field layouts, and/or other attributes. In some embodiments, the application also allows the users to modify photo books that they select. For instance, in some embodiments, a user can modify the page design, color, frame design, and/or other thematic aspects of a selected photo books. Also, in some embodiments, the user can add picture and text fields to the photo book. Once the user has completed designing the photo book and inserting pictures in the photo book, the user can order the photo book through an online transaction that is initiated through the application.

Abstract: Generating a report involves phases such as (a) database queries or other raw data accesses, (b) calculations such as data grouping, sorting, filtering, aggregation, (c) data presentation layout, (d) data formatting, and (e) rendering. When generating a modified version of a report, reusable interim results for phases (b), (c), and (d) are identified and retrieved from a cache instead of being recalculated. Newly calculated interim results are also cached for possible future use.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of displaying a representation of a frame includes identifying a molding type capable of being used in a frame. A set of digital images is obtained, wherein each one of the set of digital images represents molding of the molding type in a different one of a plurality of orientations. A representation of the frame is then displayed using the set of digital images.

Header/footer zones are defined by textual content having a low textual variability. An alternative embodiment identifies pagination constructs by comparing selected text-boxes for similarity and proximity and clustering the text boxes satisfying a predetermined similarity value, wherein the clustered text boxes are deemed to comprise pagination constructs.

Abstract: A system and process for handling clips with annotations is provided. A user annotates a document. The system gathers context information regarding the clip and displays the clip or clips with annotations to the user. A system for showing clips of content and annotations may include an input for receiving content and annotations, a processor creating a renderable image having the clips with at least one of the clips being a combination of two or more annotations, and an output for outputting the renderable image. A method of displaying clips may include receiving at least two sets of an annotation and related content, filtering the received, combining the filtered output, and displaying a combination of the filtered output.

To solve these problems, output information to be output for each region is determined based on information of an output destination of a document image and attributes of respective regions in the document image, and pieces of output information to be output are combined to be output to the output destination. Abstract: Enabling grammars in web page frames, including receiving, in a multimodal application on a multimodal device, a frameset document, where the frameset document includes markup defining web page frames; obtaining by the multimodal application content documents for display in each of the web page frames, where the content documents include navigable markup elements; generating by the multimodal application, for each navigable markup element in each content document, a segment of markup defining a speech recognition grammar, including inserting in each such grammar markup identifying content to be displayed when words in the grammar are matched and markup identifying a frame where the content is to be displayed; and enabling by the multimodal application all the generated grammars for speech recognition.

Abstract: A computer system for creating a coordinated image display using a digital template for designing the image display. The template includes a number of openings for displaying digital images. Each of the openings has at least one stored required image attribute that must be satisfied to a programmed degree according to the definition of the attribute. Altogether, the required image attributes for openings belonging to one template are stored as a template recipe. The template recipe includes an image attribute for a dependent opening, which means that it's defined to be dependent upon at least one image attribute of an image in another opening of the template. The computer system automatically searches an image database for an image satisfying the required image attribute for the dependent opening.

Abstract: A method enables users to make corrections to printed forms using a computer arrangement. The printed form is scanned and displayed to the user on a display of the computer arrangement. The user selects one or more regions of the printed form to be corrected. The selected regions are digitally whited out to create a corrected image that can be output to a printer.

Abstract: A system redacts content in a multi-layered document by executing a content modifier process that redacts a first portion of content in a source layer and then automatically redacts related content in at least one target layer. The content modifier process overlays the source redaction region on corresponding areas of other layers in the document to identify target redaction regions in those other layers that contain target content. In turn, the content modifier process automatically identifies and redacts the target content within target redaction regions.
