Abstract: A print configuration engine implemented in software residing on and executable from a digital medium, the print engine integrated with a graphics user interface (GUI) for creating and editing photo-based projects over a data network, the print engine including a communications link to a compatible print server and printer connected to the data network, a print queue for queuing printing tasks, and an image tiling module. The print engine automatically senses if the pixel size of an image is greater than a pre-defined image size threshold for high resolution printing and if so tiles the image and saves the individual image tiles to memory for later reconstitution.

  • Patent number: 8891129
Abstract: An image forming apparatus that enables prevention of a print error of different sizes of characters and graphics from those intended by the user, during execution of printing involving magnification, such as aggregation printing. When performing the image formation, a controller unit determines whether or not a processing instruction instructing execution of predetermined processing on the image data has been given. When it is determined that the predetermined processing instruction has been given, the controller unit displays an image to be formed on the recording sheet in the same size as when printed thereon, as a real-size preview image, before executing the image formation on the recording sheet according to image data on which the predetermined processing has been performed.

Abstract: An information processing terminal device includes: an acquiring unit acquiring image data; a detecting unit detecting a posture of the information processing terminal device; a generating unit generating display image data based on the image data acquired in the acquiring unit according to the posture of the terminal device detected by the detecting unit; and a displaying unit displaying the display image data generated by the generating unit on a display unit. If the posture of the terminal device is changed, the generating unit generates the display image data according to the changed posture of the terminal device. If the posture of the terminal device is changed during the generation of the image data by the generating unit, the generating unit does not generate the display image data according to the changed posture of the terminal device, until the generation of the display image data is completed.

  • Patent number: 8866844
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, a process display unit displays on the display a plurality of candidate image processes to be performed on the image data. The plurality of candidate image processes includes a sepia image process. A process receiving unit receives an instruction indicating the sepia image process selected from among the plurality of candidate image processes. A process storing unit stores the selected sepia image process. An image display unit displays a display image corresponding to the image data on the display. An image designating unit designates a display image. The image display unit displays a processed display image that represents a result of the selected sepia image process performed on the image data corresponding to the designated display image before performing the selected sepia image process on the image data corresponding to the designated display image.

  • Patent number: 8869023
Abstract: A system for converting a collection of data to a structured, printable and navigable document includes: an analyzer and a layout unit. The analyzer is coupled to receive a data collection source such as a web page associated with a wiki and other user parameters, and generates a representation of content associated with the data collection source. The output of the analyzer is coupled to an input of the layout unit to provide the representation of content. The layout unit is also coupled to receive a style sheet or other user preferences. The linearizer of the layout unit retrieves the necessary content using the representation of content. The retrieved content is then formatted by the layout selector of the layout unit to generate a paginated document and metadata. This output can then be printed on any conventional printer or manipulated and interacted with using applications or a web browser.

  • Patent number: 8860997
Abstract: A preview image of image data to be output is generated, in response to a request from an operation device, and can be displayed via the operation device. A first preview image of the image data is generated based on an output setting for outputting the image data. The first preview image is stored in a storage device. The output setting can be changed based on a changing request from the operation device. It is determined, in response to a second preview request from the operation device, after sending the first preview image, whether the first preview image is to be regenerated, based on the changed output setting. The first preview image stored in the storage device can be sent when the first preview image is not to be regenerated, for example, when a second preview image is not to be generated.
