Abstract: The present invention contemplates a method of producing a walkabout reality for a user through an augmented reality engine. The augmented reality engine retrieves data associated with user behavioral characteristics and identifies user behavioral characteristics from user patterns of behavior in at least one of a third-party virtual environment and a current physical environment. The augmented reality engine further analyzes the current physical environment to determine one or more customizable elements of the current physical environment and determines a predicted visual preference of the user. The augmented reality engine identifies one or more visual elements associated with the predicted visual preference of the user and renders a virtualized current physical environment within a threshold distance of the user by superimposing at least one of the one or more visual elements associated with the third-party virtual environment onto the one or more determined features and associated feature characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11287967
Abstract: Changes in display area automatically lead to changes in the format used to display graphical content of a list of items such as thumbnails or application icons, for example. A list display controller transitions between scrollable format and fixed format, and transitions between fixed formats with different numbers of display slots. Transitions may be triggered by window resizing, by moving a graphical user interface from one device to another while the application runs, or by switching between landscape and portrait mode, for example. Even when the format is not changed in response to a display area change, graphical content is automatically resized to match changes in the size of the display area containing the graphical content. Format transitions and content resizing help provide a pleasant user experience by maintaining content density with expected usage patterns for a given device, and reduce proliferation of code versions.

The processing element measures a physiological measurement via the first sensor interface and measures an amount of activity of the apparatus via the second sensor interface. The processing element performs a power adjustment activity in view of the amount of activity. For example, the power adjustment activity may be to perform any one or more of the following: adjust a number of different physiological measurements to take; adjusting a frequency of taking physiological measurements; turning off one or more systems; adjusting a type, frequency, data rate, number of channels and/or power at which to communicate data.

  • Patent number: 10033679
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying electronic messages are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method includes, at a computing device, concurrently displaying (i) a user interface object that represents a group of messages and (ii) one or more first indicia of a number of messages that have a predefined display status, in the group of messages while foregoing displaying more than one message of the group of messages. The method also includes receiving a selection of the user interface object; and, in response to receiving the selection of the user interface object, displaying messages in the group of messages. The method further includes, in accordance with displaying the messages in the group of messages, modifying the one or more displayed first indicia of the number of messages, which have the predefined display status, in the group of messages.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for graphics processing of a vertex buffer using a relative index buffer are disclosed. Example methods to process a vertex buffer disclosed herein include accessing a first relative index stored in a relative index buffer, the first relative index specifying an offset from a current index selecting a first entry of the vertex buffer. Such disclosed example methods also include, in response to the first relative index being a nonzero value, processing data associated with a second entry of the vertex buffer to determine a rasterizer output associated with the first entry of the vertex buffer, the second entry of the vertex buffer being selected using the current index offset by the first relative index.

  • Patent number: 10021053
Abstract: A method throttles display of electronic messages. The process displays a list of entries in an email application. The list of entries includes a first electronic message, a first message cluster, and a second message cluster. The process detects the occurrence of a cluster display trigger event for the first message cluster. The trigger event is one of: detection of passage of a predetermined amount of time since refreshing display of the first message cluster, an occurrence of a particular time of day, an occurrence of a predetermined date, or receipt by the first message cluster of a predefined number of new electronic messages since previously refreshing the display of the list. In response to the detected trigger event, the process refreshes the display of the list of entries, including re-ranking the first message cluster within the list of entries. This changes the relative position of the first message cluster.
