  • Patent number: 11247256
Abstract: A method for cutting a metal plate, a method for manufacturing a metal product, and the metal product are provided which enable the formation of cracks to be suppressed even with application of external force and enable strength of a product to be increased. A method for cutting a metal plate 2 of one aspect according to the present invention includes a crushing step and a separation step. The crushing step is a step of crushing a removal target part 22 of the metal plate 2 in a thickness direction of the metal plate 2 by applying, to the removal target part 22, force from both sides in the thickness direction so as to deform the removal target part 22 into a thin-walled part 23. The separation step is a step of separating, after crushing step, the thin-walled part 23 from a body 21 of the metal plate 2.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a coil spring and a coil spring manufacturing apparatus are provided that enable precise forming of a coil spring even when various kinds of wire rods are used as a wire rod. This is based on the premise that the wire material being fed out is serially pressed against a rotating roller outer circumferential surface to form the wire rod into a coil shape. Under this premise, as the wire rod is fed out, a rotating roller is rotationally driven by a rotary drive force of a servomotor such that a portion pressed against the wire rod on the rotating roller outer circumferential surface moves toward the advancing side of the wire rod.

Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for continuously and automatically forming tension springs each provided at the opposite ends with German type hooks. Several forming tools are mounted on rocker arms which swing about respective axes offset from and perpendicular to a central axis of a wire guide. A wire stock is intermittenly fed by feed rolls to a wire guide to pass the wire guide. When the wire stock is positioned in front of the wire guide, it is acted upon by the forming tools to form a first hook a body coil and a second hook. Among the tools, a second forming tool forms hooks and a body coil, and a third forming tool twists and forces a leading end of a body coil toward a position offset from a surface of coil forming on the second forming tool when a one fourth of an initial turn of the body coil is formed. A stationary abutment tool bears against the leading end of the body coil which is displaced by the third forming tool.

  • Patent number: 4434638
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described for use in combination with a machine for corrugating a continuous strip of flat sheet material which prepares the sheet material for separation into sections after it has been corrugated. A platform is located upstream of the corrugating machine. The platform is intermittently advanced in the direction of travel and at the speed of the sheet material so that the platform is stationary relative to the sheet material. A scoring device is located on the platform. The scoring device moves across the width of the sheet material as the platform moves with the sheet material to form a spanwise weak point in the material. After the material passes through the corrugating machine, it can readily be separated into sections at the weak points formed in the material by the scoring device. Depth of scoring can be varied also so that substantial/total separation can also occur within the corrugator though it would not separate the flat strip before it entered the corrugator.

  • Patent number: 4296621
Abstract: A wire coil spring forming machine adapted for use with thick wire prevents breakage of a thin wall in a longitudinal groove in a wire guide member or quill when forming a sharp angle bent between a coil body portion and a leading end loop portion, and permits the start of the next spring leading end loop during formation of last spring trailing end loop. A pair of radially movable members move to advanced positions where they grasp the wire portion of an already formed leading end loop just in front of the longitudinal groove. Another radially movable member abuts the loop to bend it at that point without applying the bending force to the longitudinal groove. A body holder means grasps the body after the main tool forms the trailing end loop to permit severing the semifinished spring from the material wire and bending the trailing end loop.
