Abstract: An extrusion press includes a container mover that moves a container at an end platen and molding a product by extruding a billet loaded in the container from a die by a stem driven by a main cylinder device, wherein the extrusion press includes a deflection amount detector that detects a deflection amount of the die; a deflection amount of the die during extrusion is detected; a deviation between the detected deflection amount and a reference deflection amount of the die set in advance is mathematically processed; and the extrusion press includes a controller that sends an output to the container mover to reduce a container sealing force when the deviation is minus, or increase the container sealing force when the deviation is plus so that a container sealing force corresponding to the reference deflection amount acts on an end surface of the die.
Abstract: The invention relates to a drawing die arrangement having a drawing tool that acts on an elongated workpiece, and having a drawing tool support on which the drawing tool is mounted, counteracting the drawing tool, in which support a measurement device that measures the mass distribution of the workpiece material is disposed on the drawing tool, wherein a coupling medium circulated between the measurement device and the drawing tool is provided. Furthermore, the invention relates to a workpiece guide and to a drawing system.

Abstract: A method and a device for determining a quality of a metallic surface of a metallic substrate, for example a steel or steel alloy substrate, are provided. The device includes a mould, a sheet holder and a die, with which the metallic substrate is formed to produce a drawn test surface. The method and device are used to test the quality of the metallic surface of a metallic coating with a view to a later utilization, especially with a view to a later forming, wherein the metallic substrate is formed at least in-an area of a test surface, wherein a main and an additional shape change of the metallic substrate in the area of the test surface assume predetermined values that are related to the later utilization of the metallic substrate, and wherein the quality of the metallic surface is tested on the test surface after forming.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an aluminum-based composite plate is disclosed. The method comprises the step of producing an aluminum-based composite billet. The billet production step includes reducing, by magnesium nitride, an oxide-based ceramic as a porous molded body. The reduced oxide-based ceramic has improved wettability. An aluminum alloy is then caused to infiltrate into porous sections of the reduced oxide-based ceramic to thereby provide the aluminum-based composite billet. The billet is extrusion molded into a flat plate form by using an extrusion press. Plates of desired shapes are punched from the molded flat plate by using a press.
