Abstract: A steel plate is heated so that an average temperature becomes Ac3 point or higher, a press forming is performed on the steel plate by use of a mold, and the steel plate is cooled during press forming. A formed product is removed from the mold, and the formed product is cooled further. In the hot press forming method, although a quantity of change in shape of the formed product decreases as a removal temperature of the formed product decreases. When the removal temperature of the formed product is lower than 322° C., no more improvement on an accuracy of the formed product can be realized, and a time during which the mold is occupied exclusively to cool the formed product becomes long. When the removal temperature of the formed product is 510° C. or lower, the rate of change of the quantity of change in shape with change in temperature is increased drastically, whereby an increase in accuracy of the formed product can be realized.

  • Patent number: 7832242
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a hardened profiled structural part from a hardenable steel alloy with cathodic corrosion protection. The method includes applying a coating to a sheet made of a hardenable steel alloy, wherein the coating comprises zinc, and the coating further comprises one or several elements with affinity to oxygen in a total amount of 0.1 weight-% to 15 weight-% in relation to the total coating. After applying the coating, the coated sheet steel is roller-profiled in a profiling device. Thereafter, the coated sheet steel is heated to a structural change required for hardening. A skin made of an oxide of the element(s) with affinity to oxygen is formed on the surface of the coating. After sufficient heating the sheet is cooled, wherein the rate of cooling is set in such a way that hardening of the sheet alloy is achieved.

Abstract: A current density changing portion is formed in a heating process on an upper base side with respect to a center portion of a flat metal plate in a direction of current flow, by passing current from a lower base side to the upper base side of the flat metal plate which is rectangular when viewed from above. As a result, a quenchable portion is formed on the upper base side with respect to the center portion of the flat metal plate in the direction of current flow, and a non-quenchable portion is formed on the lower base side with respect to the center portion of the flat metal plate in the direction of current flow. The flat metal plate is press-formed after the heating process, so a complex die cooling structure is not necessary during press-forming, which enables the die cost to be reduced.
