  • Patent number: 11161161
Abstract: A method for rolling a product to be rolled (3), wherein the product (3) is fed through a rolling gap (11) between two working rollers (9, 10) of a roll stand (1) and a cooling lubricant is introduced into a contact zone (15, 16), in which a contact surface (17, 18) of the product to be rolled (3) lies against a working roller (9, 10), in order to lubricate the contact zone (15, 16). Furthermore, a lubrication demand of the contact zone (15, 16) is determined in accordance with at least one process parameter of the rolling process and an additional lubricant is applied to the contact surface (17, 18) of the product to be rolled (3) before the rolling gap (11) at a specified application distance (D) if a cooling lubricant amount (C) presently introduced into the contact zone (15, 16) does not cover the lubrication demand.

The support includes a pair of members that cooperate to define a recess surrounding a circular opening and an enlarged portion of the cup holder sleeve is received into the recess and cooperates with a cupper support element. The cup holder support element and cup holder sleeve are normally radially centered with respect to the opening by centering springs and the cup holder sleeve is normally maintained in engagement with the support element by hold-down springs. The cup holder sleeve and support element can be moved radially while the cup holder sleeve can be tilted with respect to the support element and all of the elements are normally maintained in a predetermined position by the centering springs and the hold-down springs.

  • Patent number: 4169174
Abstract: Flexible core such as rubber rod useful as an internal mandrel in the construction of tubular articles, such as hose, is coated with a liquid lubricant substantially undiluted with solvent, and excess lubricant is removed using high pressure liquid spray jets impacting the core angularly and countercurrent to the direction of movement of the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4052871
Abstract: In a stock-piercing punch mechanism which includes a base having a punch-receiving bore, a punch having a stock-piercing tip positioned for reciprocal movement in said bore, and a cam trigger pivotably mounted on said base which is adapted to receive a stock-piercing force from a press ram or the like to cause the trigger to pivot and to transmit the force to the punch to move the punch out of the bore to pierce properly positioned stock, the improvement which comprises, a lubrication reservoir located in the base adjacent the punch so that as the punch moves in the bore it picks up and distributes the lubricant to reduce frictional wear of the punch and the bore. In the preferred embodiment the punch is removably attached to a punch plate positioned within the punch mechanism so that the punch can be readily removed and replaced with other punches having the same or different shape and size stock-piercing tips.
