Abstract: A recording medium insertion and ejection device which realizes reliable insertion and ejection by simple constitution is provided. The device has a first frame, a second frame, and a latch member provided between the first frame and the second frame. The first frame is inserted in the second frame. Insertion and removal of the medium are performed to the first frame. The latch member guides the first frame to a first position where the recording medium is inserted and removed and a second position where the recording medium is used. If the medium is pushed and inserted in the first frame at the first position, the latch member will guide the first frame to the second position and maintain the first frame at the second position. If the medium is pushed again at this state, the latch member will return the first frame to the first position.

  • Patent number: 8091098
Abstract: A disk drive includes an insert-and-eject device and a disk guide unit. The insert-and-eject device is used for inserting and ejecting a disk. The disk guide unit includes a rack and a slide member connected to the insert-and-eject device in such a manner that reciprocal movement of the disk guide unit along a first direction permits the slide member to drive the insert-and-eject device to insert and eject the optical disk from the disk drive. An emergency release device is mounted on the slide member, and includes a horizontal element movable along a second direction. The rack is formed with a retention groove such that the movement of the horizontal element along the second direction permits a the horizontal element to extend within or exit the retention groove so as to couple the slide member with the rack or to disengage the slide member from the rack.

  • Patent number: 7917917
Abstract: A tray ejecting mechanism includes a stationary bezel mounted to a front surface of an ejectable tray, and a movable bezel movably attached to the stationary bezel while being biased in a front-surface direction. The stationary bezel includes a detection component positionally shiftable in accordance with an open/close position of the tray, and a switch component having a pressing portion for pressing an ejection switch on the tray and being positionally shiftable in conjunction with the detection component. When the tray is closed, the switch component is positioned such that, as the movable bezel is pushed inward, a pressing rib applies a pressing force to the pressing portion to press the ejection switch. When the tray is open, the ejection switch is prevented from being pressed by the pressing portion even if the movable bezel is pushed inward toward the stationary bezel.

  • Patent number: 7617506
Abstract: An optical disc apparatus has the following arrangements. Specifically, the optical disc apparatus includes a lock pin and a lock arm. The lock pin is disposed on a side of an inner surface of a case of the apparatus, being tapered in a protruding direction thereof. The lock arm is disposed on a side of a tray of the apparatus. The lock arm, urged by a resilient member, includes a hook portion to be engaged with an inclined surface of the lock pin. When the tray has moved to a predetermined position within the case, the lock arm is engaged with the lock pin, so that the tray is held in position at the predetermined position. When an impact force equal to, or more than, a predetermined value is applied to the optical disc apparatus, the hook portion of the lock arm is displaced in the protruding direction of the lock pin along the inclined surface of the lock pin, thereby disengaged from the lock pin. Engagement of the tray is thereby released.
