Abstract: An optical disk device is capable of reducing a thickness of a loading portion equipped with plural sheets of trays. Trays installed in a main body are energized to put an optical disk between them in the thickness direction. Therefore, a thickness of plural sheets of trays can be reduced by cutting down a clearance between the tray and the optical disk. Also, plural sheets of trays are energized by spring members to be put elastically between them in the thickness direction. Therefore, an excessive pushing force is not applied to the optical disk loaded on the tray. Also, a hollow portion of the tray is formed such that projection portions protruded in excess of a standard thickness dimension of the optical disk do not interfere with the tray. Therefore, even when the projection portions are protruded from an adapter, such adapter can be loaded on the tray.

  • Patent number: 7596795
Abstract: A shock detection circuit housed in an electronic device includes an output shock signal that is indicative of vibration amplitude. To compensate for vibrations that are experienced by the electronic device, the output shock signal is analyzed. The analysis of the output shock signal allows a vibration frequency of the output shock signal to be identified and used in vibration compensation.

Abstract: The invention is to provide a restraining device of an optical disk drive in which a traverse is disposed. A transmission unit rotates a roller to, load/unload a disc, and drives a slider to move the roller. The transmission unit includes the restraining device moving with the roller. When the optical disk drive carries a disc, the slider moves to release the traverse and push down the roller to move the restraining device away from the vibration range of the traverse. When the optical disk drive does not carry a disc, the slider moves to restrain the traverse and release the roller to move the restraining device close to the front end of the traverse. The vibration range of the traverse is restrained to protect the gear teeth from damage.

  • Patent number: 7519978
Abstract: On the inner surface of a guide rail (411) having a concave groove, which extends in the vertical direction along a motion path of a disc drive (200) moved by a mover unit (300), a biasing cam (412) having thickened swelling parts (412a) at both ends is so provided as to have the groove width narrowed at both the upper and lower ends. A plate spring (420) which is pressed into contact with a guide surface of the surface of the biasing cam (412) by elastic biasing force is attached integrally to the disc drive (200). At the home position where the disc drive (200) operates and at the position where the disc drive (200) is lifted up, the plate spring (420) is strongly pressed into contact by the swelling parts (412a), and the disc drive (200) can be prevented from being moved by impact or the like from outside during operation. While moving, the pressing force is weakened so that load applied by the mover unit (300) can be reduced.

Abstract: A recording/reproducing mechanism 3 includes a pickup mechanism irradiating light on a disc recording medium 4, a pickup feed mechanism moving the pickup mechanism, and a flat cover 33 having an opening 33A cut along a feeding direction of the pickup mechanism. The flat cover 33 is supported elastically in a direction toward and away from the tray 2. The tray 2 has a recessed portion allowing the flat cover 33 to move in the direction toward and away from the tray 2. A protrusion 5 is provided on the recessed portion to restrict deformation of the flat cover 33 and prevents the flat cover 33 from contacting to the disc recording medium upon dropping impact. Therefore, even if the edge of the opening 33A of the flat cover 33 is turned up due to the impact when the driver housing the disc recording medium 4 therein is dropped, the edge contacts to the protrusion 5.
