  • Patent number: 8284559
Abstract: A lightweight radio/CD player for vehicular application is virtually “fastenerless” and includes a case and frontal interface formed of polymer based material that is molded to provide details to accept audio devices such as playback mechanisms (if desired) and radio receivers, as well as the circuit boards required for electrical control and display. The case and frontal interface are of composite structure, including an insert molded electrically conductive wire mesh screen that has been pre-formed to contour with the molding operation. The wire mesh provides EMC, RFI, BCI and ESD shielding and grounding of the circuit boards via exposed wire mesh pads and adjacent ground clips. The PCB architecture is bifurcated into a first board carrying common circuit components in a surface mount configuration suitable for high volume production, and a second board carrying application specific circuit components in a wave soldered stick mount configuration.

  • Patent number: 7562373
Abstract: A disc apparatus includes a chassis, a drive unit driven by a motor to be moved upward/downward in a prescribed direction, and a pick-up unit having a pick-up and driven by the motor to be moved in a direction orthogonal to the direction of upward/downward movement of the drive unit. The pick-up unit has an interlocking piece, and the chassis has an interlocking portion that can be interlocked with interlocking piece. In the disc apparatus, the interlocking piece provided in the pick-up unit is interlocked with the interlocking portion provided in the chassis when the drive unit is in a lowered state, whereby the pick-up unit is locked into the chassis. Therefore, reduction in the number of components and in the size of the apparatus becomes possible, and the lock mechanism of the pick-up unit can be formed in a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 7454769
Abstract: An optical pickup apparatus comprises a laser beam source to generate laser beam, and a laser driving circuit to drive the laser beam source. The laser driving circuit is connected to a flexible substrate and arranged in a groove or hole provided in the vicinity of that portion of an optical pickup housing, to which the laser beam source is fixed. The laser driving circuit is connected through a heat conduction member to an upper cover among upper and lower covers, the upper cover being close to the laser driving circuit. Thereby, heat generated from the laser driving circuit is conducted through the heat conduction member to the upper cover to be transferred outside the optical pickup apparatus while being scattered in an inplane direction of the upper cover.

  • Patent number: 7418724
Abstract: A disk changer apparatus includes a rotation base on which a turntable and a head are mounted. The rotation base can rotate about the rear end thereof as a fulcrum. The disk changer apparatus further includes a base supporter opposed to the top end of the rotation base when the rotation base moves to a driving position where the rotation base can drive a disk selected from a plurality of disks, a lock member movably mounted on the rotation base, and a lock control mechanism for causing the lock member to be connected to the base supporter when the rotation base moves to the driving position. The disk changer apparatus having such a structure stably supports both ends of the rotation base when the rotation base rotates to the driving position.
