  • Patent number: 8099743
Abstract: A slot-in type thin disk apparatus having a base body and a lid, which constitute a chassis outer sheath. A front surface of the chassis outer sheath is formed with a disk inserting opening into which a disk is directly inserted. The slot-in type disk apparatus is provided with a traverse moving unit which displaces a traverse base between the base body and the lid. The traverse base moving unit includes a loading motor provided on the chassis outer sheath, a slider which slides by driving of the loading motor, and a traverse cam member which is operated by movement of the slider.

  • Patent number: 8060899
Abstract: A disk device includes a loader chassis, a traverse chassis, an optical pickup, a clamp mechanism and a cam mechanism. The cam mechanism pivots the traverse chassis with respect to the loader chassis between a loading position and an unloading position. The cam mechanism includes a follower, a cam plate, a guide member and a biasing member. The cam plate has a first restricting face that restricts a first direction movement of the follower with respect to the cam plate. The guide member has a second restricting face that restricts a second direction movement of the follower with respect to the guide member. The biasing member biases the follower towards both the first restricting face of the cam plate and the second restricting face of the guide member when the traverse chassis is located at the loading position.

  • Patent number: 7398539
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a turntable assembly for optical disks and, more particularly, to a height-variable type turntable assembly, which can adjust the height of a turntable to adjust the working distance between an object lens and an optical disk according to the type of optical disk placed on the turntable, and an optical disk device including the same. The height-variable type turntable assembly includes a turntable, a spindle motor for rotating the turntable, and a height adjustment device for supporting the spindle motor and driving the spindle motor in a vertical direction. Through such a structure, the working distance between the optical disk and the optical pick-up can be adjusted to correspond to at least three types of optical disks (e.g., CD, DVD and BD) while the DC sensitivity and tilt characteristics of the actuator of the optical pick-up is not considerably affected.

  • Patent number: 7065775
Abstract: In an optical disc apparatus, a lens holding body provided with an objective lens is mounted on a base body. The base body has a screw hole and is guided by a guide shaft. An adjusting screw screwed into the screw hole has a slidable portion formed by an annular groove portion and slidably fitting with a rail portion on a chassis side. Each screw thread of a male screw of the adjusting screw is divided into two half sections along the peripheral direction thereof in a manner that a screw thread as one side section and a screw thread as the other side section are slightly deviated positionally to each other in the axial line direction. The screw threads are made in contact with the two slanted surfaces of a female screw.

  • Patent number: 6934960
Abstract: An optical disk apparatus includes a main chassis and a sub-chassis provided on a drawer, and has a skew adjusting mechanism of the main chassis and the sub-chassis which is skew-adjusted with reference to a rotational axis in tangential direction XT, which is parallel to a spot trajectory L of an optical pickup and located in the vicinity of the spot trajectory L, and a rotational axis in radial direction XR perpendicular to the rotational axis in tangential direction XT. This enables the skew adjustment in which a change in height of the optical pickup is small during the adjustment and distortion is small.

  • Patent number: 6901650
Abstract: A relative adjustment between an optical disc rotating mechanism and an optical pickup is adjusted by rotating a rotary member against a biasing force of an engaging projection. As the rotary member is rotated, the projection is slid for movement on an inclined surface, changing a relative position between the rotary member and a bottom wall of a subsidiary chassis, causing the subsidiary chassis to have a varied inclination relative to a main chassis. An adjusted condition is maintained by an engaging force between an engaging groove and the engaging projection biased toward the rotary member.
