  • Patent number: 11853795
Abstract: A hardware functional module in a System On Chip (SOC) performs a given task, where the given task is one of a plurality of tasks that are associated with a work item and the work item is managed by firmware in the SOC. A first notification that the given task has completed is sent from the hardware functional module to a scoreboard module, where the scoreboard module is implemented in hardware on the SOC. The scoreboard module: in response to receiving the first notification, increments a counter; determines whether the counter exceeds a threshold; and in the event it is determined that the counter exceeds the threshold, sends, from the scoreboard module to the firmware, a second notification indicating that the plurality of tasks have completed.

  • Patent number: 11533450
Abstract: Methods and systems described herein generate content that quickly cycles between different-colored frames at a rapid rate that may be imperceptible to human viewers. The human eye tends to blend nearby frames together, so that a human viewer will see a full color spectrum even though only a single color is displayed at any given time. The video display may repeatedly cycle between individual color frames, thus providing video content that appears normal to a human viewer. However, a video recording device may capture only some of the color frames. Therefore, the video recorded by video recording devices may include undesirable color flicker or other color artifacts, which may deter unauthorized copying.

A system includes a plurality of storage nodes of a data stream service of a provider network. Each storage node includes one or more processors and memory storing instructions executable by the one or more processors. The instructions cause the one or more processors to create a shard, at the storage node, for storing records of a sequential update stream recording changes to a database partition. The instructions also cause the one or more processors to assign a timestamp for the shard based on a local clock of the storage node. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to adjust the timestamp for the shard to a time later than a timestamp for a previous shard of the sequential update stream stored at a different storage node of the plurality of storage nodes.

  • Patent number: 11288513
Abstract: Described herein is a system for predictive image analysis to provide a response to a user input. To reduce a system response time when responding to user inputs that relate to image data analysis, the system processes data relating to past user inputs to predict when a user may request information relating to image data. Using pattern data (determined by the system), the system determines that a trigger to initiate image analysis occurred. The trigger may indicate that the system is expected to receive a user input relating to image data. The system processes image data, in advance of receiving the user input, to determine and store feature data that can be used to generate an output responsive to a user input. Then when the user input is received, the system sends output data (generated using the determined feature data) responsive to the user input.

However, the initial partition is only a subset of the maximum storage capacity of the storage device, which results in a second remainder portion of the storage device that is inaccessible for the television receiver to store audiovisual content. In response to a triggering event, the television receiver initiates a full partition process to partition the remainder of the storage device that was previously inaccessible for storing content. Once partitioned, the television receiver can then utilize the remainder portion of the storage device for storing long-term recorded content. • Patent number: 9905232
Abstract: The present technology relates to an encoding device and method, a decoding device and method, capable of improving audio signal transmission efficiency. An identification information generation unit determines whether or not an audio signal is to be encoded on the basis of the audio signal. The identification information generation unit generates identification information indicating the determination result. An encoding unit encodes only the audio signals which are determined to be encoded. A packing unit generates a bit stream containing the identification information and encoded audio signals. As a result of storing only encoded audio signals and the identification information indicating whether or not the respective audio signals are to be encoded in the bit stream, the transmission efficiency of the audio signals can be improved. The present technology can be applied to an encoder and a decoder.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus that support implementing a pause, e.g., of a broadcast, on a device, recording the paused program and resuming playback of the paused program on a device associated with a user's account, are described. The pause function allows a user to pause a broadcast on a device and initiate recording of the paused program, e.g., to network storage. The pause initiating device displays a pause indicator indicating that the program output has been paused. A user logging into the user's account from a device other than the device from which the pause was initiated is presented an opportunity to resume the paused playback. Playback is resumed from the pause point on the playback device from which a resume signal is received. Upon resumption of playback on a device other than the device from which the pause was initiated, the pause indicator on the pause initiating device is removed.
