  • Patent number: 11211074
Abstract: An information processing device includes circuitry that receives a user-input for selection of one of a visual accessibility feature and an aural accessibility feature and further receives a first audio segment from an audio capturing device at a live event. The first audio segment includes a first audio portion of the audio content and a first audio closed caption (CC) information. The circuitry controls display of first text information for the first audio portion and second text information for the first audio CC information, based on received user-input for the selection of the visual accessibility feature. The circuitry generates a second audio segment from the first audio segment based on a first audio characteristic of the first audio segment. The circuitry controls a playback of the generated second audio segment, based on the received user-input for the selection of the aural accessibility feature.

  • Patent number: 10976949
Abstract: Technology is described for a durable and provably complete archival of streaming data for a potentially indefinite retention period. According to the present technology, streaming data may be prepared for storage to meet completeness and consistency requirements that may result in once-and-only-once delivery and serialization of the streaming data. In one example, a storage preparation service may archive a data stream in real-time to a first data store that provides eventual write consistency and use another data store to provide a consistent view of the data. The storage preparation service may capture metadata that satisfies the completeness requirements and may provide conflict resolution to ensure write consistency.

Abstract: A server-client system or architecture that allows datacast applications to reliably transport data objects from a network server over a unidirectional packet network (“datacast network”) to one or more clients, each of which may be listening to the packet stream at different times. The invention allows the clients to listen intermittently to the datacast, yet still receive all of the data objects published by the server in a timely manner, and in a way that is more optimal in terms of client resource use. This ensures that listening clients can receive a complete set of the data objects broadcast while being able to conserve client processing and power resources by not requiring continuous listening by the client to the datacast.

  • Patent number: 8713604
Abstract: Various systems and methods allow supplemental information such as recipes, parts lists, instructions, notes, outlines or other information associated with a television program to be delivered in the same transport stream that carries the television program to the viewer. The transport stream includes at least two elementary streams, wherein the first elementary stream conveys video content associated with the television program and the second elementary stream conveys supplemental information that summarizes at least a portion of the television program. The device receiving the digital transport stream identifies the first and second elementary streams in the digital transport stream, processes the first elementary stream to present the video content associated with the television program to the viewer, and makes the supplemental information in the second elementary stream available to the viewer.

  • Patent number: 8621547
Abstract: A unified system of programming communication. The system encompasses the prior art (television, radio, broadcast hardcopy, computer communications, etc.) and new user specific mass media. Within the unified system, parallel processing computer systems, each having an input (e.g., 77) controlling a plurality of computers (e.g., 205), generate and output user information at receiver stations. Under broadcast control, local computers (73, 205), combine user information selectively into prior art communications to exhibit personalized mass media programming at video monitors (202), speakers (263), printers (221), etc. At intermediate transmission stations (e.g., cable television stations), signals in network broadcasts and from local inputs (74, 77, 97, 98) cause control processors (71) and computers (73) to selectively automate connection and operation of receivers (53), recorder/players (76), computers (73), generators (82), strippers (81), etc.

  • Patent number: 8615783
Abstract: A reception processor converts an MXF file to internal content data pieces, and converts replacement caption data to internal caption data pieces and then stores the internal content data pieces and the internal caption data pieces in a memory. A separator separates a video data piece, an audio data piece and an ANC data piece from the internal content data piece received from the memory. When a caption replacer receives synchronously the internal caption data piece outputted from the memory and the ANC data piece outputted from the separator, the caption replacer replaces a caption data piece included in the ANC data piece with a replacement data piece in the internal caption data piece. Subsequently, the multiplexer multiplexes the video data piece and the audio data piece outputted from the separator, and the ANC data piece outputted from the caption replacer, and thus outputs an SDI signal.

  • Patent number: 8554884
Abstract: A setting and modifying method of a user operating interface is used between a user device and a digital audio/video signal receiving and processing device through a network. The setting and modifying method includes the following steps. Firstly, the user device acquires a first user operating interface setting information from the digital audio/video signal receiving and processing device. Then, the contents of the first user operating interface setting information are modified to generate a second user operating interface setting information. Afterwards, the second user operating interface setting information is transmitted from the user device to the digital audio/video signal receiving and processing device through the network for setting the user operating interface.
