Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a rewarded viewing video distribution system configured to reward a user for viewed video content based on presenting video content to a user, assigning the user rewards generated based on the value of the video portion viewed, and automatically presenting the user with marketplace credit to spend the rewards. In some embodiments, the viewed video portion value may be determined as a function of a predetermined reward threshold. In an illustrative example, the predetermined reward threshold may be the video percentage viewed. Various implementations may employ a reward threshold based on advertisements viewed, permitting advertisement spending adapted as a function of verified advertisement views. Some examples may reward views using a video player plug-in. Some embodiments may permit a user to spend viewing rewards on affiliated partner services or products.

Abstract: A tracking system determines a location of a tracking device associated with a user using one or more access points at the location. Each access point at the location is configured to detect and couple with the tracking device when the tracking device is within a communicative range of the access point. An access point provides updates on the tracking device's presence, as well as the tracking device's arrival to and departure from the communicative range of the access point, to a tracking server. The tracking server determines, from these updates, whether the tracking device is at the location. The user may be notified, via a mobile device, of the tracking device's location.

Abstract: A Sender Controlled Media (SCM) platform user is presented incentives for performing rewardable platform activities that result in accruing points in a user-specific account from which points can be redeemed by transfer or cryptocurrency conversion to an external user-designated wallet. A reward received for each instance of a rewardable platform activity is determined based on a range of platform context including a target average points payout, an aggregated total points payout over a distribution period, and a type of rewardable platform activity.

Abstract: Method and server for managing placement of a digital signage content based on metric thresholds. The server stores parameters associated to a plurality of locations. The parameters for each location comprise at least one metric and a corresponding threshold for each metric. The server determines a plurality of candidate locations among the plurality of locations for displaying the content. For each candidate location, the server processes the at least one metric and corresponding threshold of the candidate location to determine if each metric among the at least one metric is within the corresponding threshold. The server identifies one or more target location among the plurality of candidate locations for displaying the content. Each metric among the at least one metric of the one or more target location is within the corresponding threshold. The locations may include digital signage players, geographical areas, displays controlled by a player.

Abstract: A computing system detects that a media presentation device such as a television is in a content-selection mode in which a user is likely to select video content to be presented by the media presentation device, at a time when the media presentation device is not using a video-on-demand service. In response, the computing system causes the media presentation device to present a prompt for user approval to have the media presentation device present video content of the video-on-demand service. By presenting this prompt at a time when the media presentation device is in a content-selection mode and is not using the video-on-demand service, the disclosed mechanism can thereby help foster use of the video-on-demand service.

A video with an embedded digital token may be sent to users on the Internet. A video recipient may be able to view the video and also take additional action or gain additional functionality from the digital token embedded in the video. Tokens can be embedded by altering video metadata so that the perceptible video content itself is not changed in some embodiments.

In some examples, a computing device obtains a prioritized list of item advertisements for each of a plurality of item categories. There is provided a system comprising a client device with a display device and an input device and running a synchronization application. The client device receives digital data transmitted from a server, and transmits user feedback information generated from user interactions with the digital data back to the server. The digital data are interactive advertisements, such as online social games, that increase users' awareness of the advertised products or messages. The digital data are delivered to the user's client device in synchronization with the broadcasting of on-air television commercials.

Abstract: An observation platform for coordinators, marketers, advertisers, merchants, retailers, and users to establish, utilize and fulfill an observation campaign suited to verify digital-world implementations surrounding observable, standards, objectives, conditions, rules, guidelines, and/or restrictions for media presentations. The observable data points may be part of an overall strategy in a digital observation campaign established by an observation campaign coordinator. One aspect of this method is determining, with some certainly, that an observed advertisement originated from an advertising campaign. Abstract: A system configured to determine an extent to which an object in a computer-generated scene is visible from a virtual camera, including a rendering engine comprising a depth buffer and arranged to render the computer-generated scene, and a viewability testing module. The viewability testing module is configured to: generate a plurality of points distributed across a surface of the object; determine a depth map value for each point within a field of view of the virtual camera; determine whether each such point is visible from the perspective of the virtual camera based on a comparison between the determined depth map value for the point and a corresponding one or more of the depth map values stored in the depth buffer; and determine the extent to which the object is visible in dependence on which of the plurality of points are determined to be visible.

Content may be initially recorded to an active storage device, with individual duplicate copies recorded for each requesting user, and subsequently archived to an archive storage device. For playback, the content can be reconstituted into the active storage device prior to delivery to the requesting user. Content can be predictively reconstituted in anticipation of user needs, and the reconstitution capacity of the system can be dynamically reallocated for load balancing.

Abstract: A video segmenting system identifies a product for sale in a video and determines one or more attributes of audio and video content within the video. The video segmenting system determines a video segment within the video that is associated with the product for sale, based on the attributes. The video segmenting system generates a tag that associates the product for sale with the video segment and sends an indication of the tag to a user device. Once the video is played on a user device, the user device detects a search query about the product for sale. Using the tag, the user device can display a marker on the user device corresponding to the location of the video segment within the video.

Abstract: A device acting as a proxy for an asset host receives a message from a requesting device. The message includes an access request specifying an asset hosted by the asset host. The message includes embedded pipeline language parameters specifying desired asset characteristics of the hosted asset. The proxy routes the access request to the asset host. The asset received in response to the request has characteristics. The proxy compares the asset characteristics of the asset to the desired asset characteristics specified by the embedded pipeline language parameters. In response to a result of the comparison indicating that the asset's characteristics do not match the first desired asset characteristics specified by the embedded pipeline language parameters, the proxy transmits a transformed asset back to the requesting device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pairing a personal electronic device of a passenger with a passenger seat in a vehicle using a PWM light identification, and for allowing the personal electronic device to control passenger in-seat functions and features. The system comprises an on-board video system having an in-seat display system for installation in a vehicle. The on-board video system is configured to communication a PWM light identification from a monitor of the in-seat display system which is captured by an imaging device of the personal electronic device. The on-board video system receives pairing information from the personal electronic device corresponding to the captured light identification via a wireless communication link. The on-board video system then validates the pairing information and pairs the personal electronic device to the passenger seat and authorizes the personal electronic device to control passenger seat functions associated with the passenger seat.

The system further includes a plurality of active agents. Each active agent receives a list of OTT service platforms supported by a corresponding wireless network operator. The received list includes a plurality of URLs associated with various applications that are delivered by the OTT service platforms. The active agent(s) connect to the plurality of URLs to determine information uniquely identifying each of the OTT applications and to store the information in the shared partition of the cloud computing environment.

The method further includes retrieving, with a computing device, the descriptor data and the at least one marketing parameter from the computer-readable memory and filtering the plurality of publishers by applying the at least one marketing parameter to the descriptor data to produce qualified publishers. Abstract: A communications system for an aircraft includes an aircraft in-flight entertainment (IFE) system and at least one personal electronic device (PED) carried by an aircraft passenger. The aircraft IFE system includes an IFE advertisement source, IFE passenger seat displays, an IFE wireless transceiver, an IFE controller, and a purchase acceptance controller. The PED includes a PED optical sensor, a PED wireless transceiver, and a PED controller for communicating with the IFE wireless transceiver via the PED wireless transceiver based upon the PED optical sensor sensing a selected advertisement token image. The purchase acceptance controller cooperates with the IFE controller to accept purchase of the selected advertisement token image.
