In various embodiments, a user input associated with dismissing a displayed content for later follow up is received. Display of the content item discontinued and a follow up record is stored based at least in part on the indication. The follow up record is used to provide to a user with which the user input is associated a follow up content associated with the dismissed content.

Abstract: A video management system may send time-stamped metadata corresponding to a video stream across a communication path having a limited bandwidth. Time-stamped metadata for a first reference video frame which identifies objects in the reference frame may be generated, and sent across the communication path. Time-stamped metadata for each of a plurality of first delta video frames following the first reference video frame may be generated, the time-stamped metadata for each of the plurality of first delta video frames may identify changes in detected objects relative to the objects identified in the time-stamped metadata for the first reference video frame. The time-stamped metadata for each of the plurality of first delta video frames may be sent across the communication path.

Abstract: A request for information (RFI) system is provided for use in communications networks including broadcast networks and the internet. In one implementation, a viewer of a cable television network enters an RFI input (1) to a digital set top box using a user remote. Based on this RFI input, the digital set top box transmits a data request (2) to an RFI data center. The RFI data center also receives asset data (3) from an asset database so as to associate the RFI input (1) with a particular asset. An RFI request (4) can then be transmitted to the appropriate asset provider. The asset provider can then provide a report such package of assets or follow-on information (5) back to the RFI data center. The RFI data center may then, in turn, provide the package of assets or follow-on information to a user data terminal, for example, of the cable television network viewer, via access through a web-portal or e-mail (6).

Abstract: Despite the impressive advances made in recent decades, past digital image processing system were faced with significant technical challenges to solving important technical problems. The digital image processing system described below helps to solve these technical challenges with regard to spatial location and orientation of arbitrary objects in real-world environments. The digital image processing system performs image segmentation to accurately identify objects in an image, then locates the objects and determines their orientations.

Abstract: A content management system and method for use of same is disclosed. In one embodiment of the system, the set-top box is configured to receive a source signal which includes a stream of network programming having time slots interposed therein. The set-top box detects signaling data indicative of a designated time slot within the network programming and responsive thereto, interposes content stored at the set-top box at the designated time slot within the network programming. The set-top box then forwards the interposed content to the display. Following the forwarding of the interposed content, the set-top box returns to receiving network programming and forwarding the network programming to the display. In one embodiment, a system receives a configuration call from a device upon initiation of a software application and associated advertising services software on the device. The system generates, prior to a predicted ad play event on the device, a predictive ad request for obtaining at least one advertisement (ad) from at least one of an ad store and an advertising exchange prior to the predicted ad play event. The at least one ad is stored on the device prior to an actual ad play event. The system determines, just prior to the actual ad play event, a bandwidth for a connection between the device and the system. The system determines if any ad source includes at least one ad that is more likely to convert or cause user interaction than the ads stored on the device based on the bandwidth for the connection between the device and the system.

Abstract: A method of display an image and a display device for performing the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes receiving image data for a content image, determining a modulation region and a peripheral region in the content image and generating a left-eye content image and a right-eye content image based on the image data for the content image such that the modulation region has a three-dimensional depth. The method further includes displaying the left-eye content image and the right-eye content image and periodically changing the three-dimensional depth of the modulation region by changing a modulation distance between the modulation region in the left-eye content image and the modulation region in the right-eye content image based at least in part on a periodic modulation reference timing.
