  • Patent number: 10883852
Abstract: Where a body includes one or more inertial motion sensors, such as gyroscopes or accelerometers, the body's response to inertial motion may be simulated by actually imparting inertial motion to the sensors, and interpreting signals received from such sensors in response to the inertial motion. Gyroscopes or accelerometers of an aerial vehicle may be physically removed therefrom and remain in communication with an inertial navigation system, and rotated by one or more motors or motorized components to simulate angular velocities on the gyroscopes or accelerations on the accelerometers. Signals received by the inertial navigation system from the gyroscopes or the accelerometers may be evaluated to confirm the operability of the gyroscopes and accelerometers, the responsiveness of the inertial navigation system to sensed inertial motion or events associated with such inertial motion, or any other aspect of the aerial vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10279932
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for mitigating the shock front of a rocket or aerospace plane flying at hypersonic speeds while simultaneously distilling liquid chemical elements regeneratively from the ambient air by means of vortex inversion splines. The splines may additionally be tuned by geometry to function as both centripetal and/or isentropic thrust augmentation attribute and/or double-decker Joule-Thomson refrigeration means. Because of the stochastic stagnation flux that reaches into the absolute zero zone by means of precooling, a splined stochastically switched hypersonic nosecone may be constructively tuned into a complex Carnot refrigeration engine commanding both personal and enterprise liquid Helium distilling means with orders of magnitude efficacy gains over existing methods.

  • Patent number: 9551754
Abstract: Test apparatus and method of testing kinetic switches. The test apparatus utilizes an RFID device attached to a high speed centrifuge on which the kinetic switches are mounted for testing. Sensors monitor the operation of the kinetic switch for movement from a first position to a second position. In addition, the speed of the centrifuge at the time of the movement is determined. This information may be transmitted in real time as received by the RFID device or saved in RFID memory and transmitted to determine the force applied to the kinetic switch at the time of the movement so that the acceptability of the kinetic switch can be determined.

  • Patent number: 7678576
Abstract: The invention provides a chemical analysis apparatus which easily agitates and warms up. A chemical analysis apparatus has a motor, a retaining disc which can be rotated by the motor, a plurality of inspection cartridges which are arranged on the retaining disc, a punching machine for punching the inspection cartridges, a warming apparatus and a detection apparatus. The inspection cartridge includes a container formed by a concave portion and a base plate having a flow path. A cover covering the container and the flow path is installed to the base plate. A liquid solution is moved to the container in an outer peripheral side with respect to a rotation axis from the container in an inner peripheral side with respect to the rotation axis via the flow path, by utilizing a centrifugal force generated on the basis of the rotation of the retaining disc.

  • Publication number: 20080000284
Abstract: The systems and methods of the invention provide for sample holders for centrifuges that include a channel structure having a sample channel and an overflow channel. The sample channel and the overflow channel are configured such that any excess sample flows into the overflow channel thereby maintaining a constant sample level in the sample channel. In other aspects, the invention provides for centrifuges comprising sample holders having a plurality of channel structures. In still other aspects, the invention provides for methods of using the sample holder and methods for detecting species in a sample using luminescence based measurement techniques.

  • Patent number: 6888073
Abstract: A substance mass measuring system is applied to a microgravitational rotating apparatus vibration control system to easily measure the mass of an object placed in an experimental box. Recess portions (10a, 10b) are provided in a casing (10). Both ends of a rotary shaft (30) are supported by bearings (11, 12) in the recess portions (10a, 10b). A lower end of the rotary shaft (30) is connected to a motor (13). Four arms (24 to 27) arranged horizontally in the direction of X and Y axes, are at their one ends fixed to the rotary shaft (30) and at the other ends fitted with experimental boxes (20 to 23). Experimental objects are placed in the boxes (20 to 23) and rotated for experiments in space. Vibration of the rotary shaft (30) and the boxes (20 to 23) is absorbed by the bearings (11, 12). Side plates (1a to 1d), acceleration sensors (2a to 2d) and distance sensors (3a to 3d) are arranged in the boxes (20 to 23).

  • Patent number: 6408703
Abstract: An apparatus for carrying out a weight measurement in centrifuges for separating suspensions into their solid and liquid components comprises a machine housing, a drum rotatingly mounted in the machine housing and receiving the suspension, and a filler pipe leading into the drum for feeding the suspension into the drum. The machine housing is mounted for pivotal movement about an axis of rotation, and a force measuring element senses weight-dependent deflections of the machine housing occurring about the axis of rotation and originating from a different degree of filling of the drum with suspension or from a different dewatering of the solid suspension components, and the machine housing deflections are indicated on a measurement value indicator. A pipeline is provided for generating a positive pressure or a negative pressure in the drum.
