Abstract: A moving-weight, dynamic balancing apparatus for a rotary machine, in particular an industrial fan, having a rotary shaft, and at least one rotor carried by the rotary shaft and provided with main rotor bearings to allow rotary movement thereof. The balancing apparatus includes at least one moving-weight balancing unit is carried by the rotary shaft, and at least one monitoring and correcting system having a drive assembly. The at least one monitoring and correcting system monitors and corrects the unbalanced state of the rotor, and acts continuously on the at least one moving-weight balancing unit when the rotor is rotating to monitor and correct for rotor unbalance. The at least one moving-weight balancing unit has at least two balancing masses mounted to be movable under drive from the drive assembly controlled by the monitoring and correction system.

Abstract: An unbalance measuring machine has an arrangement for clamping and release a motor vehicle wheel or other rotary member on a motor-driven shaft. The machine has a bar which is guided movably in the shaft in its axial direction. The bar is engaged at one end with the rotary member and at the other end with a belt pulley via interengaged screw threads. When the belt pulley is driven by the drive motor in one direction of rotation, the bar axially clamps the rotary member on the shaft to hold it fast. When the belt pulley is driven by the drive motor in the other direction, the bar moves in the opposite direction to release the rotary member.

Abstract: A measuring apparatus for measuring forces which occur when a rotary body is clamped on a testing machine drive shaft include a face clamping force measuring means for measuring face clamping forces acting between said rotary body and a clamping element contact face which is disposed perpendicularly to the axis of the rotary body, and/or a radial clamping force measuring means for measuring a radial clamping force acting between said rotary body and a radially outwardly acting clamping means.
Abstract: A tire balance audit apparatus with an improved tire support tool is disclosed. The tire support tool utilizes a plurality of jaw members, each driven radially by a ball screw, to engage, center and level an unbalanced tire about the centerline of an unbalance measuring device. The tire is supported solely through engagement of the bead of the tire with the individual jaw members.

Abstract: A universal balancing plate is presented for balance of rotational parts. The plate is an aluminum plate which is webbed for strength and hard coated for wear. There are five slots in radial locations in which five steel details slide on rotary screws. Three slots carry tool locators to pilot the part to be balanced, and two slots carry hold down bolts to secure the part to the plate. Each movable detail has a vernier scale attached for quick radial adjustment via a crank at the outside diameter of the aluminum plate.
Abstract: A carrier for inflatable pneumatic tires is supported for tilting travel about a substantially vertical axis upon an arcuately spherical universal pivot resting upon a seat having a corresponding sphericity. The seat surmounts a pedestal, and the pedestal and carrier are jointly formed with an air conducting means, the continuity of which is interruptible, to admit air to and from a tire mounted for balancing upon the carrier, to inflate and deflate such tire. The pedestal surmounts a fluid motor provided with two pistons in tandem: one piston carries an actuating rod to operate a valve to admit air to a tire prior to balancing, and to resist escape of air from an inflated tire on the carrier during balancing. The carrier is equipped with a lower rim element to engage a lower bead of a tire and an upper rim element to engage an upper bead of a tire. The upper rim element is removable.
