  • Patent number: 11237068
Abstract: A method and a device for measuring the torque in the drivetrain (1) of a wind power plant is described, having at least two incremental encoders (7, 8) which are positioned at two different positions on at least one shaft (3) of the drivetrain (1) and which each supply periodic rotational signals, wherein the phases of the rotational signals are evaluated in order to detect a phase shift, and a torque of the shaft (1) is determined from the phase shift. The detected phase shift is corrected as a function of a zero load phase shift (AZero), using a rigidity factor K, wherein, in order to determine the zero load phase shift (AZero) and the rigidity factor K, in-situ calibration is carried out before and/or between the torque-determining processes. The in-situ calibration is performed at zero load of the wind power plant, i.e. below a rated rotational speed and with a generator torque equal to zero, and at the rated load of the wind power plant, i.e.

  • Patent number: 8001848
Abstract: A torque measurement device associated with a power driven ground engaging device having a power supplying device and a load. The torque measurement device includes a rotatable shaft, a first detectable feature, a second detectable feature, a plurality of sensors and an electrical controller. The rotatable shaft has a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end. The first end is connected to the power supplying device and the second end is connected to the load. The first and second detectable features are respectively associated with a first longitudinal position and a second longitudinal position on the shaft. The plurality of sensors include a first sensor and a second sensor. The first sensor is proximate to the first detectable feature and the second sensor is proximate to the second detectable feature. The first sensor produces a first signal and the second sensor produces a second signal as the rotatable shaft rotates about the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 7158223
Abstract: To achieve the improvement in workability of attachment or detachment of a light receiving fiber for receiving a torque optical signal from a rotor, as well as the improvement in the light receiving efficiency of optical signals, a torque measuring apparatus comprises a rotor having a hollow body portion formed between a drive-side flange portion and a load-side flange portion; light emitting elements disposed on a periphery of the rotor for emitting optical signals based on an output from a torque detection unit arranged on a hollow portion of the hollow body portion; a diffusion means for diffusing the optical signals; and a light receiving fiber attached to a chassis disposed outside the rotor for receiving the optical signals via the diffusion portion.

  • Publication number: 20050257625
Abstract: An angle of rotation sensor for determining a torque in a twistable shaft of a steering system has at least two magnetic scales, arranged concentrically about an axis of rotation, with a pole length of at least one of the scales, participating in the formation of the vernier, advantageously being modulated, so that a least possible number of regions of ambiguity result. Several rings are optionally disposed in such a manner, that the ambiguity regions of verniers formed do not mutually overlap.
