  • Patent number: 8371183
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining properties of three-dimensional objects that have been produced by a generative method, in particular by a thermal generative method. The problem solved is that of providing a nondestructive test method by which the density of such objects can be determined and possible component defects can be identified. This is achieved by firstly completely immersing the three-dimensional object in a dyeing liquor, removing it from the dyeing liquor after a defined residence time, then washing it off, drying it and exposing it to a vacuum and subsequently subjecting it to an image-analytical evaluation by determining the intensity of the coloration by apparatus technology, wherein an assessment with regard to density and component defects of the three-dimensional object is effected by a comparison of the image-analytical characteristic values of coloration and reference data stored beforehand by computer technology.

Capacitor circuits are interruptably connected to the busses by means of push-button switches. Leads electrically connected to the busses are attached to a calculator unit which is, in turn, electrically connected to the load leads. The calculator unit displays in digital figures the actual operating conditions of an induction motor and the capacitance required for power factor optimization. The correct capacitance required to increase power factor in the 99% to 100% range is determined by either: (1) pushing a switch or a combination of switches, or (2) pushing the automatic mapping switch.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus that precisely measures the bearings in a rotor pitch link. The apparatus permits measurements to within a thousandths of an inch to be taken in multiple perpendicular orientations. Namely, measurements can be taken in the axial direction, in the longitudinal radial direction, and in the transverse radial direction. All of these measurements can be taken without having to reorient the pitch link. By using the apparatus of the present invention, a user can detect unacceptable levels of wear within the pitch link bearings to thereby permit timely replacement and/or repair.

The instrument location apparatus and the imaging apparatus are synchronized temporally with one another. According to such synchronization at least three points of the position of a medical instrument relative to a tracking coordinate system of the instrument location apparatus and/or relative to an image coordinate system of the imaging apparatus are measured simultaneously both by the instrument location apparatus and by the imaging apparatus. The instrument and/or the imaging apparatus are moved relative to one another between the measurements. The measured points parameterize a predetermined transformation rule for mapping the tracking coordinate system onto the image coordinate system.

Abstract: A sensor-less technique is described for detecting the status of an AC contactor of a power inverter. In one embodiment, a method is provided of sensing an unexpected condition of an AC contactor used to couple to a power distribution system a power inverter having at least one power conductor. The method includes determining a voltage value for the conductor; determining a current value for the conductor; determining a phase difference using the voltage value and the current value; and monitoring successive values of the phase difference to produce a monitoring result. Depending on the monitoring result, a determination is made whether or not to issue an alert signal. Control routines embodying such technique may be stored on computer-readable media. Abstract: A method of automating a process for controlling a voltage waveform applied to an object is provided. A first waveform for applying to the object is received. A first FFT of the first waveform is calculated. A second waveform for input to the waveform generator is determined based on the first waveform. The determined second waveform is sent to a waveform generator. A third waveform is received that is measured across the object based on a waveform generated by the waveform generator. A second FFT of the received third waveform is calculated. The third waveform is compared with the first waveform to determine a convergence status of the third waveform. If the determined convergence status is not converged, an updated waveform is calculated based on the first FFT and the second FFT and the process is repeated with the updated waveform as the determined second waveform.
