Wheel Bed Type Patents (Class 74/14)
  • Patent number: 8151718
Abstract: A seed meter for a planting machine is provided with an adjustable drive coupling between the seed meter and the planting machine main drive. The drive coupling includes a drive member connected to the planter drive and a driven member coupled to the seed meter shaft. The drive member and driven member are drivingly engagable with one another and held into the engaged position by a biasing member. The drive member and driven member are selectively movable relative to one another to a disengaged position, enabling adjustment of the seed meter relative to the drive by rotation of the meter shaft. Once released, the coupling self-engages.

  • Patent number: 4987962
Abstract: The field of the invention relates to installations for transmitting motion or power to any measuring apparatus or to apparatus requiring a rotary drive. The device of the invention comprises a box frame, and an endless belt rotating over two parallel pulley shafts driving an external transmission system. Said belt and the pulley shafts are of the poly-V type in order to prevent the belt from slipping sideways off of the pulleys, and to prevent the vehicle escaping the frame. The box frame is pivotally mounted on a swivel frame which is free to swivel relative to a fixed frame in order to keep the belt in alignment with the vehicle wheel, either by direct adjustment or by automatic adjustment. The assembly is mounted on shock absorbers, and its height may be adjusted by standing it on an elevator platform. The speed of rotation of the vehicle engine is regulated by a tachometer and a regulator assembly.

  • Patent number: 4412570
Abstract: A wood splitting apparatus is disclosed which includes a horizontal platform supporting a splitting head at one end and an hydraulic ram and pusher plate mounted at the other end. The ram is powered to drive the wood block into the splitting head which has both vertical and horizontal splitting edges. The horizontal splitting edges are set back from the vertical splitting edge to provide a progressive splitting action and the configuration of the horizontal and vertical splitting members is such as to prevent any jamming of the wood block during the splitting operation. The hydraulic ram is preferably powered by a pump driven by means of a vehicle powered roller device. The invention also includes an automatic recycling arrangement for the hydraulic pump to reverse the movement of the block pusher plate after one splitting action has taken place.

  • Patent number: 4317476
Abstract: A highly portable wood splitting device adapted to be powered by a self-propelled motor vehicle having driven wheels interconnected by a set of differential gears includes a pair of drive rollers driven by one of the vehicle wheels, at least one ramp to enable the vehicle to drive onto the device, a set of gears and chains that enables at least one roller to drive a horizontal shaft carrying a threaded conical wedge, there preferably being two such arrangements driven by the set of rollers, along with removable stops for preventing log rotation and an electrical switch for disabling the vehicle engine.

  • Patent number: 4140191
Abstract: A sealed container for storing a wheeled vehicle has roller supports for the wheels of the vehicle and drive means, e.g. an electric drive, for at least one of the roller supports, the drive means being controlled from outside the container whereby the supported wheel or wheels of the vehicle may be rotated without unsealing the container and removing the vehicle. If the vehicle is left in gear, the engine and vehicle transmission system, together with all the wheels, can be exercised using only one rotatably driven wheel support. Provision is made also for exercising the vehicle suspension by raising and lowering the wheels.
