  • Patent number: 5737876
Abstract: A clutch mechanism of a powered sliding device for a vehicle sliding door comprises a swingable member held at a neutral position by means of resilient force of a return spring, an output gear fixed to an output shaft of a motor, first gears rotatably supported to the swingable member and engaged with the output gear, second gears rotatably supported to the swingable member and brought into contact with the first gears with predetermined frictional resistance, respectively, rack members fixed to the base plate and engaged with the second gears, respectively, a wire drum connected to the sliding door through a wire cable, a drum gear integrally rotated with the wire drum. When the first gears and the second gears are rotated by the motor, the swingable member is rotated due to the engagements of the second gears and the rack members against the resilient force of the return spring so that one of the first gears is engaged with the drum gear.

  • Patent number: 5520253
Abstract: A method employing a basic structure and a collection of components to improve efficiency in caring for laws and gardens. The basic structure comprises a single engine, speed reducer, and transmission mounted on a frame with handle bars and controls. The components make up a collection of tines, wheels, blades, rollers, plows, racks and mounting parts. The operator mounts selected components on the basic structure to create a custom ramification for accomplishing a specific task. The specification describes eighteen applications. Eight apply to common tasks of tilling, grading, removing snow, shredding, edging and mowing. The ten remaining apply to new methods for wet lands tilling, hard ground tilling, rolling, aerating, dethatching, scooping, lifting, cross country transporting, and automatic mixing and separating. A primary advantage of the method lies in a consolidation that reduces costs for capital outlay, maintenance, storage, and transportation of walk behind equipment.

  • Patent number: 5483848
Abstract: The invention is directed to a drive mechanism for a kitchen appliance with a drive motor (4), in which a variable-speed transmission (5) provides with an output shaft (14) a tool output for the coupling of tools adapted to be driven by the tool output at two different speeds of rotation at a given motor speed. The output shaft (14) of the variable-speed transmission (5) is axially displaceable and is movable by axial displacement from a first position in which it is coupled to a first gear wheel (18), into a second position in which it is disengaged from the first gear wheel (18), being instead coupled to a second gear wheel (17) or to the motor shaft (25).

  • Patent number: 5394764
Abstract: A bevel gear forward/reverse mechanism comprises bevel gears, a locking device for forward drive and a band brake for reverse drive. The locking device includes tapered pins mounted to a flanged hub which is slidably mounted on an input shaft of a differential unit and locks the input shaft to the differential unit for forward drive. The differential unit is unlocked when the band brake stops the differential unit from rotating for reverse drive. This mechanism also provides a neutral and a drive shaft brake.

  • Patent number: 4516648
Abstract: A child's motor powered vehicle utilizes a unidirectional electric motor supported on a drive shaft which carries at its ends drive members which are engageable with either one of a pair of radially spaced drive surfaces on the drive wheels. Control levers support the drive shaft adjacent its ends and are pivotally supported on the vehicle so that they may effect movement of the drive shaft end portions and the drive elements from one drive surface to another to effect a reversal in the direction of rotation of the drive wheels. The drive surfaces are conveniently provided by axial walls of a concentric channel on the inner face of the drive wheels.
