Alternative Clutch Shaft Patents (Class 74/356)
  • Patent number: 8661943
Abstract: A mechanical four-speed gearbox/drive system for household appliances comprising two drive-outlets; each drive-outlet driven at two different speeds in the same rotational direction; a motor, motor shaft, first drive-outlet and second drive-outlet, with installation of one-way bearings in suitable places in the gear-train. The motor drives two drive-outlets and rotates in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions through three one-way bearings and two gear down systems to provide four different speed drives. When operating in hi-speed mode, the first drive-outlet is directly driven by the motor. When operating in lo-speed mode, the first drive-outlet is driven via the gear down system, with resulting increase in torque. Simultaneously, second drive-outlet is driven via second gear down system to provide two different speed drives. This gearbox is simple to construct and operable without expensive control electronics.

  • Patent number: 5507198
Abstract: A mechanical transmission (10) includes a first gear (13), a second gear (15), a slip clutch (14), an input shaft (11), a fourth gear (20), a one-way bearing (21), a third gear (18) and an output shaft (12). The first gear (13) and the slip clutch (14) are mounted on the input shaft (11). The first gear (13) is meshed with the second gear (15) which is mounted on the output shaft (12). The one-way bearing (21) and the fourth gear (20) are mounted on the output shaft (12); the latter (20) is meshed with the third gear (18) which is mounted on the input shaft (11) to constitute a step-down gearing (22). When the load upon the output shaft (12) increases so that the torque imposed upon the slip clutch (14) is higher than predetermined, the slip clutch (14) releases, and the increased torque generated by the step-down gear set (18, 20) drives the increased load upon the output shaft (12). Two additional embodiments (10', 10") are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4998443
Abstract: An electrohydraulic system for controlling the gear changing process in a mechanical, automatic gear-box having five gears. The system includes two pairs of electromagnetic valves (57, 58, and 59, 60) which control via pressure-control valves (61, 62) the flow of pressure medium to three operating cylinders (41, 42, 43). • Patent number: 4686869
Abstract: A tractor transmission includes a pair of dual power clutches that connects an engine to an input shaft through a gearset that selectively makes a direct connection or overdrives the shaft in accordance with the engaged or disengaged state of the clutches. A synchronizer connects the input shaft to an interior shaft of the transmission. A gear selector moves the sleeve of the synchronizer into engagement either with a gear on the input shaft or a gear on the interior shaft. When certain upshifts are made, the gear selector causes the clutch that overdrives the input shaft gear to disengage and the clutch that directly connects the input shaft gear to the engine to engage. This action slows the gear toward the synchronous speed at which the synchronizer connects the input gear to the interior shaft with minimal shifting effort.
