Separate Actuator To Disengage Restrictor Patents (Class 74/473.23)
  • Patent number: 6311577
Abstract: A selection system for an automatic motor vehicle transmission has a manual selector element which is locked or released by an oblique locking surface as a function of operating conditions. The oblique locking surface divides the manual forces of the selector element into a force component directed in the operating direction of the selector element and into a force component directed transversely thereto. Only this transversely directed force component can act upon additional locking surfaces if their surfaces have not yet been disengaged by an actuator arrangement before a manual operating force is exercised on the selector element.

  • Patent number: 6298742
Abstract: A rocker has a least one rocker arm and is urged by a spring member into a rocker end position and by an electromagnetically actuated control member into an opposite rocker arm end position. The respective upwardly tilted rocker end serves as a latch for a selector element so that the adjustment movements of the selector element in one or more predetermined adjustment positions (P, R, N, D) is allowed or prevented under certain operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 6295886
Abstract: A transmission shifter for controlling the transmission of a motor vehicle in both and automatic mode and a manual (or “autostick”) shifting mode is disclosed, comprising a base having a detent surface provided with a series of detents, a cable actuator to which a cable would be connected to the transmission, a shifter lever connected to the base, movable along a first gear shift gate in the automatic mode and a second gear shift gate in the manual mode with the shift gates connected by a connecting gate, and a pawl mounted on the cable actuator, movable between an engaged position where the pawl engages the detent surface to a disengaged position where the pawl is free of the detent surface, such that as the shifter lever moves along the first gear shift gate the cable actuator moves with the shifter lever, and the shifter lever moves independent of the cable actuator as the shifter lever moves along the second gear shift gate.

  • Publication number: 20010006009
Abstract: A driving position selector is described for selecting at least the driving steps of the automatic transmission, “D”, “N”, “R”, “P”, which are selected by the driver over a control device and engaged by electro-hydraulic setting elements activated by a transmission control device, it being possible to disengage a parking position, engaged in the “P” driving position, by a release device in the automatic transmission housing, which can be activated by the driver over an operating device, especially a hand lever.

  • Patent number: 6186263
Abstract: To provide a four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle which enables it to easily change shift position with a simple operation of moving a speed change lever in one direction. A speed change lever 15 having a substantially vertical axis of rotation C is provided below the fuel tank 2, while the speed change lever 15 has a first arm 18 extending outwardly from the axis and a second arm 19 extending upward along a side of the fuel tank 2 continuously from the first arm 18, so that shift between forward, neutral and reverse positions and selection of high speed or low speed can be done by swinging the first arm 18 in a substantially horizontal plane, and a first rod and a second rod are provided for locking the speed change lever at a selected shift position.
