Abstract: A cable sheath of the present invention includes several adapter tubes which can be joined to one another. Each of the adapter tubes has a metal outer tube and a plastic inner tube. The plastic inner tube which is inserted into the metal outer tube abuts against the metal outer tube, so that the plastic inner tube of each of the adapter tubes can be used for receiving a metal cable therein. Thereby, said invention can receive a brake cable or the like without a plastic tube of the cable, so that said invention can prevent the cable from being wound by a remaining interior stress from the plastic tube.

Abstract: A connection end portion of an inner member is provided with engagement projections and a connection end portion of a stay is formed with reception grooves that are capable of axially receiving the engagement projections. When operation cable is axially inserted into a cylindrical support, the engagement projections are axially received in insertion grooves and are then transferred to terminal end positions thereof that are bent in one circumferential direction by a spring force of a spring member, so as to be elastically retained therein. When the stay is axially inserted into the cylindrical support in this condition, the engagement projections are axially received in the reception grooves and are then moved to terminal end positions thereof that are bent in the other circumferential direction. As a result, the operation cable is positioned in a condition in which the operation cable is suspended in the stay.

  • Patent number: 8336422
Abstract: A damping system for a shift cable is disclosed, in which vibrations and noises that are generated by a transmission and transmitted into the interior of a vehicle through a shift cable are considerably reduced across a damper, that is positioned in a bottleneck section of a socket housing and contacts with bottleneck section, such that it is possible to effectively exclude vibrations and noises transmitted into the interior of a vehicle. Further, the present invention is advantageous in terms of the cost and weight, because a rubber damper is used instead of a mass damper, and it is possible to reduce vibrations and noises without increasing force for operating a shift lever and maximally prevent the function of reducing vibrations and noises from being deteriorated by frictional wear.

  • Patent number: 8328217
Abstract: Conventional linkages between bicycle handlebar-mounted controls and rear brakes and gears are unable to accommodate unlimited rotation of the handlebars as is required on some so-called “freestyle” bicycles. A prior attempt to solve the problem employs a linkage comprising a bearing having two parts that are relatively rotatable about an axis. However this proposal is unable to handle situations where there are two or more mechanisms to be controlled e.g. a rear brake and a gear. The problem is solved by using multiple bearings (15, 16, 17) that share a common axis (X-X) of rotation but are located at different radial positions with respect to the axis. This avoids interference between the different linkages and makes it possible to locate the linkages around a stem on which the front wheel fork of the bicycle is mounted. A possible suitable location may be within a head tube of the bicycle frame. The invention is not limited to use with bicycles and can be employed in robotic and other machines.

  • Patent number: 8051956
Abstract: A driving device for a parking brake system includes a casing shift member, a brake cable and a driving member. The casing shift member includes a cable casing. The brake cable is mounted through the cable casing. The driving member has a driving unit connected to and driving the casing shift member to perform a longitudinal motion. Thus the cable casing applies a force on the brake cable so as to perform a brake work. Because the brake cable is tightened with the force provided by the cable casing, the brake cable is only bent slightly. Thus the curvature of the brake cable is small. That prevents the brake cable from being damaged and prolongs a life span of the brake cable. Moreover, a mechanical efficiency of the driving device is improved because the brake cable is tightened with the force provided by the cable casing.

Abstract: An operation cable has an operational structure in which an inner member inserted into a tubular outer member is pulled from a lower end side thereof. The operation cable having a double layer structure is axially connected to a double layer cable that is constructed from a stay of a headrest and a push rod inserted into the tubular stay. In particular, the stay is inserted into a support positioned on an upper portion of the seat back, a lower end of the stay and an upper end of the inner member are axially connected to each other, so that a lower end of the push rod in the tubular stay and a head portion of the outer member are positioned closer to each other. As a result, the push rod can be pushed by the head portion of the outer member when the operation cable is pulled.
