Abstract: An electronic control system and apparatus is provided for controlling the operation of an industrial machine, such as a sewing machine. A body actuated apparatus is mounted in a spaced apart relationship from ground level and in approximate adjacency to the sewing machine. The body actuated apparatus has an elongated control bar pivotally mounted to the body actuated apparatus along a longitudinal axis of the elongated control bar for actuation of a force sensor when a body of an operator pressingly engages the elongated control bar in a direction towards the sewing machine. Electronic means for controlling the speed of a motor of the sewing machine is provided which includes monitoring means for monitoring sensor input produced by the force sensor, and controlling means responsive to the monitoring means for varying the speed of the motor of the industrial machine by outputting control signals to the motor.

Abstract: A knee control mechanism is provided for operation of a machine. The mechanism includes at least one knee contact surface operatively connected to the machine in such manner as to permit operation of the machine while the operator is standing with both feet firmly placed on the floor at all times. The knee control mechanism is positioned forwardly of and substantially entirely to either one of the right and left sides of the operator.
Abstract: A pull-pull foot control device for controlling the angular position of a trolling motor mounted for pivotal movement on a boat. The device including a base plate mounted in a spaced relation to the trolling motor, a pedal pivotally mounted on the base plate with a pulley mounted on the base plate rearwardly of the foot pedal, a first cable having one end connected to the foot pedal and the other end connected to the trolling motor, and a second cable having one end connected to the foot pedal and the other end connected to the other side of the trolling motor, the second cable being wrapped around the pulley so that pivotal motion of the foot pedal in one direction will pull the trolling motor in one direction and pivotal motion in the other direction will pull the motor in the other direction.
Abstract: An aid to steering of a vehicle having directional control defined by rotation of a steering wheel consists of a wedge shaped member strapped to an operator's thigh, having a pliable, frictional surface material for mating with the outside rim of the steering wheel. An alternative embodiment provides for a sleep alarm to sound when biasing between the invention and the steering wheel slackens.
Abstract: A control system for the legless operation of a motor vehicle includes a rod secured to the accelerator and extending toward the driver's seat with a linkage secured to the brake and extending generally along side the rod in such a manner that both the accelerator and brake can be controlled by the same limb of the operator.
