  • Patent number: 4949591
Abstract: An improved throttle control which includes a metal throttle lever, a metal bracket, a plastic detent plate and the lever being pivotally mounted to the bracket with the detent plate therebetween and a spring biasing the lever toward the detent plate. The detent plate includes an annular ridge facing the lever and immediately surrounding the mounting means and an arcuate ridge facing the lever and spaced radially outward from said annular ridge. The arcuate ridge includes at least one recess which coacts with a detent on the lever to provide an easily detected preset throttle position. The detent on the lever rides on the arcuate ridge and the force necessary for lever movement is determined by the friction force created between the lever detent and the detent plate arcuate ridge. The lever also includes an arm which engages a throttle cable and the bracket receives and secures the end of the throttle cable sheath.

  • Patent number: 4819501
Abstract: An improved self-adjusting mechanism for a cable-operated vehicle brake is disclosed. The operating lever is pivoted about an axis on a frame member which carries a fixed sector. The lever carries a first pawl, which is adapted to releasably hold the operating lever in position with respect to the frame, and a second pawl which locks the lever to a sheave sector fixed to a sheave which winds up the brake cable upon pivoting of the lever. A third sliding pawl is mounted on the sheave sector. When the operating lever is rotated beyond a predetermined degree in setting the brake, the sliding pawl abuts a stop on the frame. This moves the sliding pawl with respect to the sheave sector. When the handle is subsequently returned to its rest position, the sliding pawl allows a limited amount of rotation of the sheave sector with respect to the lever, which occurs due to tension exerted on the brake cable by the brake shoe return spring.

  • Patent number: 4805481
Abstract: The self-locking revolute joint can be adjusted at angles by turning an activation lever back and forth. It has a mount in which a bearing shaft rests rotatably in bearings, and supports an adjustment wheel which is provided with tooth profiles. The activation lever can be turned in both rotational directions around a turning axle resting in bearings in the mount; it has two swing-out carriers which do not engage with the adjustment wheel when the activation lever is in its central position; when the activation lever is turned, one of them engages with an adjacent tooth profile of the adjustment wheel and brings it to turn. Further, two locking arms rest rotatably in bearings at the mount and lock and adjustment wheel when the activation lever is in its central position. Each one of two radial cams arranged on the activation arm confunctions with a locking arm, via a release arm.

  • Patent number: 4614009
Abstract: A locking member for an open roof construction for a vehicle. This open roof construction is provided with a panel, which in the closed position closes an opening in the roof of the vehicle and which is movable from this closed position or to this closed position by means of at least one push-pull cable. This push-pull cable is displaceable by means of a driving wheel, which is rotatable in two opposite directions, while a locking member at least substantially prevents a rotation of the driving wheel by the push-pull cable. This locking member comprises two cooperating locking parts, the first one of these locking parts being stationary and the second locking part, when at rest, being maintained in the locked position, while this second locking part can first be brought from its locked position into its released position with respect to the stationary locking part by means of an actuating member and can thereafter be rotated in the two opposite directions, which rotation is followed by the driving wheel.

  • Patent number: 4517855
Abstract: An improved power take-off lever arrangement for a tractor is disclosed which prevents the inadvertent shifting of the PTO lever from a first to a second position. The lever arrangement includes a support plate secured to the tractor and has a pin extending outward therefrom which engages an oval aperture formed in a manually operated lever. The lever is connected to a control valve for hydraulically engaging a power take-off drive. The control valve is responsive to move to a second position with corresponding movement of the lever and is spring biased to move to a first position with corresponding movement of the lever when the hydraulic pressure falls below a predetermined value. The lever is also spring biased to the first position such that an attachment mechanism formed on both the lever and the pin engages.

  • Patent number: 4222474
Abstract: A single lever control for the throttle and clutch of a marine propulsion device including a housing pivotally supporting both a main control lever and an auxiliary warm-up lever, a throttle lever, and a gear shift lever. The throttle lever is alternately operable to regulate the setting of a remotely located engine throttle in response to movement of either the main control lever from a neutral position or the warm-up lever from an idle position. The gear shift lever is operable to shift an engine clutch in response to initial movement of the main control lever from the neutral position. A lock-out lever mounted inside the housing cooperates with a lock-out plate carried by the warm-up lever and with a recessed, arcuate surface on the gear shift lever to prevent movement of warm-up lever when the main control lever is displaced from the neutral position and to prevent movement of the main control lever when the warm-up lever is displaced from the idle position.

  • Patent number: 4121065
Abstract: An off-lock for a toggle switch of the type having a slotted guide plate and a spring-biased toggle lever having flats on opposite sides of the portion thereof extending through the elongated slot in the guide plate to confine the toggle lever for non-rotatable pivotal motion. The lever lock consists of arcuate grooves around the toggle lever slightly above the guide plate deep enough to allow rotation of the toggle lever after it is pressed down to bring such grooves to the level of the guide plate. For off-lock in its center off position, the toggle lever is pressed down against the force of the plunger springs and turned 90.degree. so as to cause the opposite edges of the slot in the guide plate to mesh with the arcuate grooves and thus lock the toggle lever against pivotal movement. To release the off-lock, the toggle lever is turned 90.degree. whereupon it snaps up to normal position allowing pivotal movement.

  • Patent number: 4109547
Abstract: A detent mechanism including a stop pin and a specially configured detent spring provides a recognizable interruption to an operator rotating a control shaft of an engine governor. Increased torque is required to be applied to the shaft to override the detent spring to permit further rotation of the shaft. The detent stop pin is mounted for rotation about the shaft to allow radial positioning of the pin relative to the shaft by a resiliently biased means. The C-shaped detent spring is readily replaceable to provide different tensions for different operating conditions. Fixed stopped means and adjustable stop means limit rotation of the shaft with the detent mechanism operably positioned between the two stops.
