  • Patent number: 4947705
Abstract: A device for maintianing a load raising linkage in a raised position. A power member is provided for raising and lowering the linkage. A locking member is pivotally connected to the load raising linkage. The locking member is movable between a lock position and an unlock position. An anchor is connected to the linkage. A releasable member is carried by the locking member. The releasable member engages the anchor and maintains the locking member in the unlock position. Upon pivoting the locking member to the lock position, the releasable member can also engage the power member and maintain the locking member in the lock position.

  • Patent number: 4900043
Abstract: An axle wheel assembly is removably attached to the base of a suitcase by attaching a pair of brackets to opposite sides of the base of the suitcase. The upper edge of each bracket is provided with a downwardly extending slot. A pivotally mounted slot entrance cover is mounted on the bracket and is pivotal in one direction to cover the entrance to the slot to prevent the axle of the axle wheel assembly from falling out of the slot once the axle is inserted in the slot, and pivotal in another direction to open the entrance to the slot to permit the removal of the axle from the slot. The length of the axle is larger than the width of the suitcase so wheels of any size can be secured to the ends of the axle.

  • Patent number: 4597307
Abstract: A foot-operated device for controlling a parking brake wherein a parking brake pedal is locked in its operated position through engagement of a pawl member with ratchet teeth. The pawl member is pivotally connected to the brake pedal, and the ratchet teeth are formed on a bracket fixed to a vehicle frame. The parking brake is released when a pedal pad pivotally connected to the brake pedal is pivoted on the pedal and the pedal is depressed. The pedal pad has an extension arm protruding toward the pawl member which is biased by a spring device in a first direction to cause the pawl member to engage the ratchet teeth while the pedal pad is placed in its original position. The extension arm directly engages the spring device to change the biasing direction thereof from the first direction to a second direction so that the pawl disengages from the ratchet teeth when the pedal pad is pivoted to its operated position.

Abstract: The valve consists of a closing device (7) pushed by a spring (8) to press the sealing face (9) against its seat (13). The closing device (7) can only be moved by action on the handle (18) provided the magnetic core (32) is attracted to the left, to enable the rod (35) to move the part (26) against the opposing action of a spring-loaded (39) bush (38). When the handle (18) is then operated, the rod (20) moves the part (26) downwards, which in turn presses down the rod (30) and allows the spring (8) to move the closing device (7) downwards. If the excitation current is interrupted, the core (32) and the part (26) return to their original position, which releases the moving part (26) and the rod (30).The spring (31) then returns the closing device (7) to the position illustrated.

  • Patent number: 4153296
Abstract: A seat back member is pivotally connected to a seat cushion member. First and second rows of successively stepped teeth are arranged in opposed rows on one of the members. First and second latch bars are pivotally mounted on the other member and one of the latch bars is engageable with the stepped teeth of one row to block forward pivoting movement of the seat back and ratchet over the teeth during rearward pivoting movement of the seat back. The other latch bar is engageable with the stepped teeth of the other row to block rearward pivoting movement of the seat back and ratchet over the teeth during forward pivoting movement of the seat back. A spring urges both latch bars to their normal positions engaging their respectively associated teeth. A release handle is operable to disengage a selected one of the latch bars from its associated teeth to permit motion of the seat back in the direction normally blocked by that latch bar.

  • Patent number: 4141258
Abstract: A control module comprises a bracket assembly adapted for attachment to a support structure of a construction vehicle. A control lever is pivotally mounted on the bracket assembly along with a bellcrank having a roller mounted on a first arm thereof. The roller is adapted to selectively engage at least one notch formed on the control lever to form a detent mechanism and is biased in that direction by a tension coil spring connected between the bracket assembly and a second arm of the bellcrank. A control rod is reciprocally mounted in the bracket assembly and has its first end pivotally connected to the control lever and is adapted to have its second end connected to a self-centering valve spool of a directional control valve. A lost-motion link is interconnected between the first arm of the bellcrank and a solenoid plunger of a kickout mechanism to selectively override the solenoid to release the detent mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4135413
Abstract: A device or arrangement of parts for electrically loading a movable member so as to bias same in one direction. In this device, an elastic member is secured to a pivot provided on a base member, with its two arms being deflected and then held by first and second locking members, after which a movable member is forced down against the elastic member from above, so that a guide portion of the movable member may push one arm of the elastic member so as to keep the arm apart from the locking member which locks the arm, and then a locking portion continuous with the guide portion, of the movable member locks the arm. As a result, the movable member is elastically loaded so as to bias in one direction, while the movement of the movable member is limited by means of a control member provided on the base member.
