Abstract: A sailboat winch basically includes a support, a winch drum, a drive shaft and a transmission mechanism. The support is mounted to a sailboat. The winch drum is rotatable with respect to the support. The drive shaft is rotatable with respect to the support and the winch drum. The transmission mechanism is operatively disposed between the drive shaft and the winch drum to transmit rotation from the drive shaft to the winch drum in a single output rotational direction. The transmission mechanism increases an output rotational speed of the winch drum with respect to an input rotational speed of the drive shaft as the drive shaft rotates in a first rotational direction. The transmission mechanism also decreases the output rotational speed of the winch drum with respect to the input rotational speed of the drive shaft as the drive shaft rotates in a second rotational direction.

The first shaft is non-rotatably fixed to the second shaft and selectively rotatably mounted in the chassis. The second gear is rotatably mounted on the second shaft. A holding feature selectively holds the eccentric arrangement in a first position. With the eccentric arrangement being held in the first position by the holding feature, the first gear and the second gear are in meshing engagement. With the eccentric arrangement being released by the holding feature, gear separating forces cause the eccentric arrangement to rotate about the first axis to a second position, thereby disengaging the first gear and the second gear.

Abstract: A mechanical conversion system for receiving input from a toroidal engine that outputs an oscillating motion. The system has a gear set with facing bevel gears that mesh with radially mounted pinions. The bevel gears are mounted on a splined input shaft via bearings and one-way clutches. An overrunning clutch is coupled with each bevel gear. As the input shaft rotates in one direction, the overrunning clutch of one bevel gear is engaged and drives the one gear in the first direction, while the overrunning clutch of the second bevel gear is disengaged and allows the second bevel gear to overrun the input shaft. The overrunning clutch is a type known as a MECHANICAL DIODE®, which engages within 4.5 degrees of rotation, without significant slippage.

Abstract: The paper transferring mechanism includes a drive gear coaxially coupled with a rotation shaft of a motor, a pick-up gear coupled with a shaft of a pick-up roller to separately feed the paper sheets, and a feed gear coupled with a shaft of a feed roller to outwardly transfer the paper sheets. The paper transferring mechanism also includes a discharge gear coupled with a shaft of a discharge roller to outwardly discharge the paper sheets, and a swing gear having one end connected to the drive gear and the other end selectively connected to one of the pick-up gear and the feed gear. The pick-up gear is rotated when the motor is rotated in a first direction, the feed gear is rotated when the motor is rotated in a second direction, and the discharge gear is rotated constantly in one direction regardless of the rotation direction of the motor.

Abstract: A power transmission device includes a pair of gear assemblies and an idle. Each of the gear assemblies includes a first gear having continuous external teeth on a peripheral wall and a second gear having continuous external teeth on a peripheral wall. The first gear and second gear are arranged to form a one-way clutch. When the first gear rotates in one direction relative to the second gear, the first gear is not connected to the second gear. When the first gear rotates in the other direction relative to the second gear, the first gear is connected to the second gear. The external teeth of the first gears in the gear assemblies engage each other, and the external teeth of the second gears in the gear assemblies engage the idle gear. One direction output at the second gear is obtained regardless of an input direction at the first gear.
