Rotary Driven Device Adjustable During Operation Relative To Its Supporting Structure Patents (Class 74/840)
  • Patent number: 8608470
Abstract: A holding member can be made to move up and down with long strokes by means of short vertical strokes so that the overall arrangement can be downsized and lightweight. Additionally, the holding member can be held to a constant attitude and the overall arrangement can be simplified to reduce the cost. A swing arm is adapted to be swung between the metal mold of a resin molding machine and the outside of the resin molding machine by means of a rotary shaft rotating in response to a vertical motion of an elevating body relative to a vertical frame and, at the same time, a fitting member is adapted to be driven to rotate in response to the swinging motion of the swing arm in order to control the attitude of a vertical arm so as to make its axial line aligned with the vertical direction.

Abstract: The electromagnetic propulsion system or E.P.S. is a rocketless propulsion engine known as a spacedrive. It is rocketless in that it does not involve the expulsion of propellent. It achieves this by reusing the propellent over and over again by having it travel in a loop or circle. The propellent is propelled with the use of electromagnets. The entire propulsion system moves in the opposite direction of the accelerated propellent.

  • Patent number: 4431063
Abstract: A drive mechanism for a drill provides both rotational drive and axial feed for a drill of substantial diameter such as those used to drill holes for roof bolts in mine shafts. A plurality of sprockets carry two chains of drive links which interlock around the drill shaft with each drive link having depressions which mate with scroll-like projections on the drill shaft. For axial feed, the sprockets are driven from worm drives in separate housings on each side of the chains, the worm drives being driven from gears in a gearbox which are connected through a differential gearset to a hydraulic motor. A second hydraulic motor also drives through the differential gearset to rotate the drill shaft and the entire drive chain assembly. A large diameter face seal serves as the partition between the chain drive assembly and the gearbox.

  • Patent number: 4429753
Abstract: A gear drive used in water well drilling or blast hole drilling to remove overburden in open pit coal mining, not only rotates the drill pipe but also pulls down or pulls out the drill pipe as it rotates. A hydraulic motor within a housing operates a first gear train to rotate an output shaft at varying speeds. A drill pipe is projected through the output shaft. A plurality of feed rollers are mounted on spherical bearings, the outside diameter of the rollers having a concave recess for operative registry with the drill pipe. When the output shaft is rotated, each roller cocks and digs into the feed pipe causing it to rotate with the output shaft. The pull down and pull up section is driven by a hydraulic motor within the housing through a second gear train. The second gear train drives a plurality of third gear trains for individually driving the respective feed rollers.
