Disks And Cutters Patents (Class 76/45)
  • Patent number: 8789444
Abstract: A method of producing an endodontic file that involves grinding in a plane substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of a rotating dental instrument blank. By grinding the dental instrument blank in this manner, the torsional strength of the resulting endodontic file is not eroded during its production, thereby providing a file that is less susceptible to breakage during its use.

  • Patent number: 8151669
Abstract: A method and device for producing band saw blades, particularly for the timber-processing industry. A blank band saw blade is produced from a metal band, such as a metal band that can be stored on a roll. Several metal bands are combined into a flush metal band packet which can be introduced into a saw band grinding machine. The metal bands are pressed onto a planar guide. The metal band packet is clamped and a grinding machine operates to produce a desired saw tooth profile. A pawl is introduced into a tooth profile which is ground into the metal band packet. The clamped metal band packet is then loosened and advanced with a predetermined tooth spacing.

  • Patent number: 7720786
Abstract: A system and method of identifying loose patterns using a smart multiset intersection operation are provided. Data segments are received from a data segmentation algorithm and sorted into corresponding multisets. A retain operation may be performed on the multisets. A normalization operation is then performed on the repeating elements in the multisets to identify the loose pattern. The loose pattern is stored in a database.

  • Patent number: 6907809
Abstract: A saw blade positioning device has two drive mechanisms and two guidance devices, which are preferably oriented at right angles in respect to each other. If a first guidance device is oriented in the radial direction of the circular saw blade by the linear guides, and the other guidance device in the circumferential direction, a desired advancement curve of the engagement member, independently of the saw blade diameter, is achieved respectively by means of the same control, or respectively the same control pulses, and of the drive mechanisms, in every radial position of the first guidance device. A mechanically robust basic structure results in addition, which makes a precise positioning possible.

  • Publication number: 20010027703
Abstract: A grinding machine, which preferably serves in sharpening saw-blades, particularly circular saw-blades, has a machine frame that supports a device for supporting the saw blade and for fixedly clamping the blade and for advancing the saw-blade tooth-by-tooth. The grinding attachment has two spindles or shafts, which operate independently of one another, and are preferably oriented perpendicular to one another, and preferably support separate drives. The grinding attachment is mounted to pivot and be adjusted in three spatial directions. In a selected pivoting position, one of these spatial directions (Z direction) is oriented radially with respect to the saw blade. In this position, the axis of rotation of one spindle is oriented in the circumferential direction, and the axis of rotation of the other spindle is oriented in the radial direction. A grinding attachment of this type permits the hollow-grinding of tooth faces with grinding pencils that have a small diameter.

  • Patent number: 5024026
Abstract: Segmental grinding wheel for forming the tip of intersecting surfaces on tools includes an array of peripherally extending and circumferentially, spaced segments. Each segment includes first and second grit-coated angularly oriented grinding surfaces. Another array includes similar grinding segments which are interdigitated in alternating sequence with the segments of the first array. The segments of the two arrays are concentric and partially coextensive in the axial direction of the wheel so that the plane of rotation of the first grinding surface of each segment in one array intersects the plane of rotation of the second grinding surface of an adjacent segment in the other array along a line which represents the tip of the intersecting surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4532830
Abstract: A sawtooth grinding machine has a single pivotally mounted grinding head for grinding both the face and back of teeth, such as in a circular saw blade. The grinding wheel is a composite member formed of a disk wheel and a cup wheel. The disk wheel is shaped to fit into narrow gaps between teeth when grinding the face of a tooth. The cup wheel has a smaller diameter than the disk wheel and has an abrasion-coated ring on its outer circumference for grinding the back of a tooth. A spindle shaft mounts the grinding wheel on the grinding head. The angular displacement of the grinding head for different grinding positions can be reduced as compared to known arrangements. The grinding head is supported for translatory movement in two directions extending perpendicularly of one another and also for rotation about two axes disposed at right angles to one another.

  • Patent number: 4034630
Abstract: A circular saw includes a plurality of teeth having an improved metal breaking geometry. The saw is especially adapted to cut hard, brittle materials such as steel bars and the like. The saw teeth are generated by a cup shaped grinding wheel having a grinding face on its inside surface. By bringing the rotating inner surface of the grinding wheel into contact with each tooth, it is possible to produce a working surface on each tooth which exhibits improved metal breaking and self-cleaning characteristics. The working surface thus generated is characterized by the fact that all points on the working surface which lie in the same given plane perpendicualr to the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel are equally distant from any given point on that axis. The working surface is preferably a section of a cylinder or cone, but may exhibit irregularities or discontinuities for special applications.
