  • Patent number: 8365640
Abstract: An anti-slip wrench includes a handle having two opposite grip surfaces, and at least one slant slot formed on at least one of the grip surfaces of the handle. The slant slot is through the grip surface from one lateral surface of the handle to the other. The slant slot is a concave surface with two side edges, which meet the grip surface respectively. The slant slot is positioned at an included angle located between a slot axis of the slant slot and a longitudinal axis of the handle. The concave surface of the slant slot accommodates a thumb of a user when gripping the handle. The slant slot on the handle is provided to prevent the thumb from sliding longitudinally and transversely when gripping the handle.

  • Patent number: 8225697
Abstract: A tool includes a hub, at least two opposed fingers depending from the hub, and at least two opposed skirt sections configured different from the fingers. The skirt sections depend from the hub and are disposed adjacent the fingers. The opposed skirt sections have a second transverse distance between lower edges thereof that is greater than a first transverse distance between lower edges of the opposed fingers. The fingers are resiliently moveable relative to the skirt sections. Each of the fingers is circumferentially spaced from the adjacent skirt section by a gap. At least a portion of the gap is formed in the hub. The at least two fingers and the at least two skirt sections are circularly aligned such that each of the fingers and each of the skirt sections lie on a common circle.

  • Patent number: 8061238
Abstract: A tool for removing a cap from a pest control device includes a hub and at least four fingers depending from the hub in circumferentially spaced relationship with each other to cooperatively define a socket for receiving the cap within the tool. The fingers are resiliently moveable transversely outward relative to the hub upon receiving the cap into the socket whereby the fingers are biased transversely inward against a sidewall of the cap when the cap is received in the socket. A plurality of stops extends from fewer than all of the fingers laterally inward of the socket. The stops are adapted for contacting a top of the cap upon receipt of the cap within the socket such that the fingers and stops cooperate to orient the tool on the cap.

  • Publication number: 20090255377
Abstract: Provided is an opener that allows for a smaller angle of aperture between the members when used, even with handle parts and trapping parts of the same size. Furthermore, the opener can be easily and reliably turned, so as to remove a cork or cap, with a hand covering the cork or cap. The opener comprises a pair of members; the members each having a handle part, a trapping part for trapping a cork or cap, and a hinge part; the trapping part is located between the handle part and the hinge part; the pair of members is hingeably coupled at the hinge parts so as to rotate around a hinge axis between an open position and a closed position; and the hinge parts project in the lengthwise directions of the members.

  • Patent number: 7272993
Abstract: A tool for removing a cap from a pest control device, such as a termite control device. The tool comprises fingers extending generally parallel to one another adapted for frictionally engaging a side edge of the cap. The fingers define a socket for receiving the cap. The socket is slightly smaller than the cap so that engagement of the fingers with the cap induces the fingers to move with respect to the cap to increase the size of the socket. Movement of the fingers induces frictional engagement of the fingers with the cap. Stops extending laterally inwardly in the socket from the fingers are adapted for engaging a top surface of the cap transverse to the side edge of the cap. The fingers and stops cooperate to orient the cap with respect to the tool. The tool may further comprise an extension extending from the tool for manipulating the tool from a remote location. The tool may otherwise include a handle for grasping the tool.

  • Patent number: 6666110
Abstract: Apparatus for twisting off crown bottle caps. A main body in side view is flattened and has a thickness, with a circular opening through the thickness, the opening large enough to accommodate the diameter of a crown bottle cap. The circumferential edge of the opening is formed into a plurality of pairs of facets, each pair of facets forming a notch. The walls of the facets are not parallel to one another but instead taper toward one another and form generally pyramidal shapes which intersect, or come to a point, within the main body thickness. An inverted triangular shape is formed between each pair of facets. A bottle cap is inserted into the opening, where the notches formed by the facets closely engage the bottle cap jags. The contour of the main body then permits the user to readily twist off the bottle cap.
