  • Patent number: 10894175
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a glass shearing apparatus. One application of the glass shearing apparatus is in vehicles. The apparatus comprises a handle provided at the vehicle door. The handle is coupled with at least one shearing means. The shearing means comprises a housing in which a window pane is supported. The shearing means further comprises a shear bolt that is coupled with the handle via a cable. In case of an emergency, the occupant of the vehicle actuates the handle thereby causing the cable to be tensioned, and the tensioned cable provides a drive to the shearing bolt, wherein the threadable engagement between an opening of the housing and the shearing bolt causes the translation of the shearing bolt within the opening. The translation of the shearing bolt within the opening is such that it eventually contacts the window pane and subsequently shears the window pane.

The primary locking tool includes a first side portion having a drive jaw configured to engage the first and second drive sprockets. A second side portion includes an input jaw configured to engage the first and second input sprockets. The first and second side portions are coupled together for movement between a retracted position and an extended position that engage and resist rotation of the first drive sprocket and first input sprocket and the second drive sprocket and second input sprocket, respectively.

Abstract: An implement for orientating a tool at a predetermined angle with respect to a plane of a target surface to be engaged by the tool includes a rod having a distal end coupled to a head formed with three contact points arranged in a circular array around the longitudinal axis of the rod, such that the three contact points define a plane. The rod is coupled to the head with the longitudinal axis of the rod at the predetermined angle to the plane defined by the three contact points, such that when the three contact points of the rod are in contact with the target surface, the longitudinal axis of the rod is at the predetermined angle with respect to the plane of the target surface. The implement is described particularly for orientating a surgical cutting tool perpendicularly to bone tissue for harvesting and implanting a bone plug to repair damaged bone tissue.

Abstract: A device containing fragments of a failed high torque device such as hydraulic torque device, geared air driven torque machine or impact wrench. The device is a sleeve formed of a woven or web-like material that is positioned around at least a driving or socket end of the high torque device. The sleeve absorbs the impact of fragments upon failure of the high torque device, preventing the fragments from becoming airborne. The sleeve may be assembled with the high torque device during construction of the high torque device, or may be added to the high torque device at a later time. The sleeve may be retro-fit onto the high torque device. The sleeve may be pre-molded, shrink-fit, hot-dipped, slid, rolled or woven onto the high torque device.

Abstract: An identification structure of a tool with two colors includes a tool body having an engaging surface, and an identification ring. The identification ring is made of elastic polymer, composed of an inner layer and an outer layer having diverse colors. The identification ring is mounted around the engaging surface of the tool body, having the outer layer fitted in an intermediate portion of the inner layer to make an upper and a lower edge of the inner layer extending outside the outer layer. So, the two edges of the inner layer have the same color and the intermediate portion of the identification ring has two different colors, keeping them apt to be recognized.

Abstract: A carpet installation tool capable of being used to crease and tuck carpets in a wide variety of locations, including those difficult to access. The tool includes a handle that defines a longitudinal axis of the tool and a head disposed at one end of the handle. The handle has a longitudinal length sufficient to accommodate at least one hand of a user. The head has a neck portion adjacent the handle, a heel portion adjacent the neck portion, and a toe portion adjacent the heel portion. The neck portion extends at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the tool, and has a length sufficient to accommodate a hand of the user. The heel portion is adjacent the neck portion so that a heel edge defined thereby is offset from the longitudinal axis of the tool in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis. The heel and toe portions define a distal edge that extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tool.
