Abstract: A device for laterally positioning a splitter downstream of a saw blade. The rotatable splitter holder is fastened behind a circular sawblade. The splitter keeps cut lumber or other material from becoming misaligned or pinching the back of a circular saw blade. Adjustment for alignment with sawblade is acomplished by rotating the base and attached splitter pin. Splitter width is adjustable with interchangable splitter inserts and bushing. A variation eliminates splitter friction while maintaining kerf width. This device is particularly suitable for an improved tablesaw throatplate. It can added to the deck or trunion of a tablesaw. The same device can also be used to prevent kickback and improve cuts with a handheld circular saw.
Abstract: A blade guard and lifter therefor surround the saw blade, interlocking when raised by a workpiece as a result of relative movement caused by a secondary linkage. Two pair of primary linkages pivotally connect the blade guard to the splitter. The dual secondary linkage pivotally attaches the parallel plates of the lifter to one of the two pivot points of the primary linkages. Any lifting force is resisted by the rigidity of the primary link that does not share a pivot point with the secondary linkage. A dust collector can be provided to the table saw to minimize respiratory hazards.
Abstract: A wedge (6, 6′) intended to be inserted into a cutting slot is made in two parts (41, 42), the two parts (41, 42) comprising means (3) which allow them to slide one over the other, so as to produce a double wedge (6, 6′), the total thickness of which can vary between a maximum thickness value and a minimum thickness value.
Abstract: A splitter and cutting member guard assembly for mounting on a table saw or other similarly constructed device including a circular saw blade or other rotating, oscillating, or otherwise driven cutting member, a table portion including a workpiece supporting surface and having a void therethrough for passage of a portion of the cutting member, and a table insert removably disposed within the void and including a slot for passage of the cutting member. The splitter and cutting member assembly includes a cutting member guard hood for covering an operative portion of the cutting member and a splitter for passing through a workpiece kerf as the workpiece is fed past the splitter.

Abstract: A device for securing a table saw accessory downstream of a saw blade. The device comprises a mount for securing the device to a table saw beneath a throat plate of table saw; a slide for receiving a stem carrying a table saw accessory; a releasable detent for capturing such stem and holding a table saw accessory in place; and an actuator for releasing the detent. The actuator is actuated from directly above and moveable downwardly vertically to release the detent. The device is particularly suited to quick change of saw splitter devices.
