Including Means To Replace Product In Base Material After Cutting Patents (Class 83/108)
  • Patent number: 6681611
Abstract: A process for manufacturing holes on the circumference of a hollow section situated in an internal high pressure forming tool uses the action of a punch integrated in the forming tool. A desired breaking point is formed on the hollow section, which follows the edge contour of the operating face of the punch; and after the withdrawal of the punch, the hollow section material surrounded by the desired breaking area, acted upon by internal high pressure, is extracted from the hollow section from the inside to the outside, forming a hole. In order to produce holes on the circumference of hollow sections, in which the shape of the outer circumference of the hollow section is maintained, the wall of the hollow section is weakened to form an unstable thin area. The punch penetrates into the wall of the hollow section at an internal high pressure which corresponds to the forming pressure for forming a hollow blank inserted in the forming tool.

  • Patent number: 6378409
Abstract: A three hole punch system is for use in an image capturing device. The three hole punch system uses elastomeric rollers that punch holes in the edge of a sheet as it passes between two rollers. If desired, the rollers can act as a transport for the sheet without punching holes in the sheet. After the holes are punched, the resultant slugs are pushed back into the holes and the sheet is retrieved by the operator.

  • Patent number: 5275679
Abstract: A a lid for sealing a container. The lid adheres to the container by no more than a vacuum formed within the container. The lid is formed of a substantially circular panel having a flanged perimeter and a concave depression on an upper side of the circular panel. A pressure release hole extends through the concave depression of the circular panel and sanitary varnish is disposed on a lower side of the circular panel. A first adhesive material is applied to the lower side of the lid by fusion to the sanitary varnish to form a thin film over the release hole, and a second adhesive material is disposed in the concave depression on the upper side of the lid to form a removable seal. The second adhesive material has the same properties as the first adhesive material.

  • Patent number: 4445272
Abstract: A method of, and an apparatus for, constructing a laminated rotor for use in high speed stepping motors or the like. The apparatus consists of a rotatable carousel having a plurality of rotatable work stations each of which is carried to a plurality of operating stations. Lamina are punched from sheet metal stock and brought back into the stock and held in a friction fit. Sheet stock is then advanced to a stacking station where a lamina is forced onto a rotor shaft. The shaft is rotated thereafter in order to uniformly distribute any local metalurgical or planarity inconsistencies in the sheet stock throughout the laminated structure.

  • Patent number: 4438670
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for cutting and welding slugs to lead wires, a die has a bore therein through which the slug feedstock is stepwise advanced. The die is ferromagnetic and a permanent magnet is positioned with one magnetic pole adjacent the cutting end of the die. A knife has an opening therein for receiving the feedstock advancing out of the die when the hole and die are aligned. Rocking of the knife cuts free a slug. When the knife is rocked back into alignment, the slug positions itself on the freshly cut end of the feedstock. Advance of the feedstock then pushes the slug out of the knife and presents it to a clamp.

  • Patent number: 4435885
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the manufacture of plates of an electrical storage battery involves the partial or total severing of a plate blank from a strip of stock material and the subsequent filling of a grid of the plate blank with a material in paste form prior to the removal of the filled plate from the stock material.

  • Patent number: 4282996
Abstract: A method and apparatus for continuous cold cutting or slitting of a flat material wherein the flat material is subjected to a first step of partial-shearing or penetration in a zigzag state to a controlled depth of penetration, and subsequently to a second step of flattening, thus forcing the penetration formed in the material back to substantially the original thickness of the material, thereby to perform complete severing or slitting the material having no burrs formed during the operation. The first working action is obtained from feeding of the flat material into the controlled spacing of opposing pairs of cutter discs so that there occurs partially shearing or penetration in the flat material under an optimally predetermined interfering action by the opposing pairs of cutter discs into the material when it engages therewith.
