Abstract: The invention relates to a device, for the lateral separation of paper webs, comprising: (I) a paper introduction region with at least one driven web supply roller, (II) a buffer region, in which the web is prepared for the discontinuous forward motion, (III) a cutting device, with a cutting means and (IV) a paper lead-off region with discontinuous web forward motion, comprising at least one tube group (120; 150) with two tubes (121, 122; 151, 152), which may be moved relative to at least one third tube (123; 153) of the group (120; 150) perpendicular to the web. The tube group (120; 150) is arranged between the paper introduction region with the tubes (140, 142) and the discontinuously driven paper web (130) in order to form a turning web loop of varying length. The length as determined by the separation between the tubes of the tube group is regulated by a controller, in connection with the driven web supply roller and the discontinuous web forward motion.

Abstract: A gripper which can hold the adhesive tape between its branches is mounted on a chain driven in a loop. In a gripping area at the start of the outgoing portion, the gripper is closed around the adhesive tape unwound from the reel. The gripper which is kept closed is then moved along the outgoing portion, thus pulling the adhesive tape up to a release area where it is stopped. The adhesive tape is then cut across by a cutting system designed to hold the adhesive tape on both the upstream and the downstream sides. The gripper is then opened, and the cut piece is transferred to a user station. The gripper is then returned to the gripping area by driving the chain.

The die-cut products are simultaneously picked up at a pick-up point in the operating area. Then, they are simultaneously moved to a delivery point outside the operating area. At the delivery point, the die-cut products are released simultaneously. The operations of picking up moving and releasing are carried out in such a manner that the die-cut products at the delivery point are situated at substantially at the same position with respect to one another as those which they adopt at the pick-up point.

Abstract: An apparatus for the proper shaped cutting of alternate components of sheet material fittings for subsequent joining as ductwork. The apparatus comprises a main support platform defined by a rectangular peripheral frame of side beams and end beams and a cutter head movably arranged over the platform to cut sheet material on the platform. A first shuttle table for receipt of a first piece of sheet material is supported on the platform. A second shuttle table for receipt of a second piece of sheet material is also supported alternately, on the platform. A roller bearing set is arranged on the platform to permit one of the shuttle tables to be moved onto the platform as the other of the tables is moved from the platform, to permit alternate pieces of sheet material to be cut by the cutter head over the platform in sequence with one another.

The assembly includes a cover which partially encases a hub with a plurality of blades. A brush is mounted on the cover to disrupt an air flow created by rotation of the hub and blades. The brush extends beneath the cover and has bristles which contact the hub. The bristles also serve to clear the hub of any detritus produced during dicing. More than one brush may be mounted on the cover.

Abstract: A cutting apparatus usable in conjunction with a thermoforming machine that produces a thermoformed plastic sheet is designed to cut the thermoformed plastic sheet to separate a portion of the plastic sheet from the remainder of the plastic sheet. The cutting apparatus includes a cutting mechanism that moves across the width of the sheet. The cutting mechanism is in the form of a cylinder actuated sheet cutting knife whose operation is controlled in conjunction with the operation of the thermoforming machine to effect cutting of the plastic sheet at desired intervals. The apparatus also includes a hold down mechanism that is operated in synchronism with the operation of the thermoforming machine and the cylinder actuated cutting knife. The hold down mechanism is designed to hold down the thermoformed plastic sheet to thereby facilitate the cutting of the plastic sheet.

The device comprises a frame from two supporting means spaced on both sides of the drawing material, an anvil roller with a cylindrical outer surface extending substantially the full width across the sheet-like material. A plurality of circumferential grooves dispose along this surface for transiently receiving flaps into. Abstract: Lack of balance of a crank mechanism, which reciprocates a ledger having one or more guides for one or more cigarette rods or filter rods each issuing from a maker and being subdivided into a row of cigarettes or filter mouthpieces, is at least partially counteracted by at least two counterpoises one of which orbits about the axis of the crank mechanism in a first direction and the other of which orbits, in a second direction counter to the first direction, about a second axis laterally offset relative to the axis of the crank mechanism. A third counterpoise can be mounted for orbital movement about the axis of the crank mechanism and, if utilized, is angularly offset relative to the first counterpoise. The prime mover for the crank mechanism orbits the first and (if provided) third counterpoises in the first direction, and (e.g., by way of a V-belt) the second counterpoise in the second direction.
