Abstract: A paper corner trimmer includes a first blade having an extension extending perpendicularly from a side thereof and a second blade is engaged with a shaft which extends through the extension. A torsion spring is mounted to the shaft and two legs of the spring respectively engage with the two blades. The second blade is slightly curved so that an angle is maintained between the two blades. Two positions on two ends of the cutting edge of the second blade are respectively stopped by two stop points on the first blade when the second blade is located at its two extreme positions.

  • Patent number: 5588345
Abstract: A sheet metal working apparatus having a supply mechanism adapted to supply an elongated and flat strip of sheet metal stock to an inlet of a punch press and along a longitudinal axis of the strip. An intermittently operable drive device is provided for effecting an intermittent movement of the strip of sheet metal stock relative to a punch press. A set of tools are provided on the punch press as well as a second intermittent drive device for effecting a metal working engagement of the tools with the sheet metal stock during intervals of time between the movement of the sheet metal stock to produce a continuous strip of a finished sheet metal fin stock.

  • Patent number: 4638904
Abstract: Apparatus which repeatedly severs wire segments from a wire strand and conveys them for further processing comprises a pair of wire feed clamps which are reciprocably movable in opposite directions to feed the wire strand along a first path. The wire feed clamps are affixed to parallel flights of a pulley-supported steel cable which is axially driven back and forth by an oscillatably rotatable cable drum. The cable drum is oscillatably driven by a rack-and-pinion mechanism which includes a drive rod or rack bar reciprocably movable by an orbiting crank pin on a support member which is adjustably mounted on a motor-driven rotatable feed crank. A locking mechanism releasably locks the support member and its crank pin in selected positions relative to the feed crank. The crank pin orbit determines drive rod stroke, cable drum position and wire feed clamp spacing and travel.

  • Patent number: 4549458
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for apportioning and cutting a loaf of meat into slices of equal thickness. The apparatus includes a frame, a meat compartment in the frame adapted to receive the loaf of meat, a measuring device on the frame for apportioning the loaf into a predetermined number or thickness of slices to be cut, a cutting blade on the frame to cut the loaf into the plurality of slices, an advancement ram connected to the measuring device for advancing the loaf after each slice is cut, and a control system interconnecting the measuring device and cutting blade so that the cutting blade will sequentially cut the loaf into the plurality of slices of equal thickness. The measuring device includes a first elongated member having calibrations of equal increments for substantially simultaneously apportioning the number and thickness of slices into which the loaf is to be cut.

  • Patent number: 4350090
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanism for adjusting the feed length of a rack and pinion roll feed mechanism of the type generally used for feeding strip stock into presses. The feed length adjusting mechanism comprises a hub member connected to the press shaft, a throw block connected to the hub, and a slide rotatably connected to the connecting rod of the rack and pinion drive for the feed. A slide is locked to the block by means of a piston and cylinder lock mechanism, and a lead screw is threadedly connected to the slide and rotated by a bidirectional pneumatic motor mounted to the block, whereby rotation of the lead screw causes the slide to translate within the slideway. This changes the length of the eccentric connection between the rotating block and connecting rod thereby proportionately changing its stroke and the amount of strip stock which is fed into the press during each cycle of the feed mechanism.

  • Patent number: 3954035
Abstract: The invention relates to a slicing machine having a hydraulic feed means, a piston pump synchronized with the rotation of the knife so that for each revolution of the knife a measured amount of fluid is supplied by the pump to the feed means thereby determining the increment of movement and thus, the slice thickness. The stroke length of the piston pump may be varied to change the slice thickness.
