  • Patent number: 6227090
Abstract: The present invention relates to an oscillating assembly for pivoting a blanking die that is constructed and arranged to cut blanks from sheet material. The oscillating assembly comprises a die supporting structure that pivots about a pivot axis. The die supporting structure receives and supports the die such that the sheet material can be fed into the die in a feeding direction and such that the pivoting of the die supporting structure pivots the die relative to the sheet material. A reversible rotary driving assembly rotates a rotatable output shaft in opposing first and second rotational directions. A linearly movable die driver is operatively connected to the output shaft such that (a) rotating the shaft in the first rotational direction thereof moves the die driver generally linearly in a first die driving direction and (b) rotating the shaft in the second rotational direction thereof moves the die driver generally linearly in a second die driving direction opposite the first die driving direction.

The time when the loading device is working overlaps the production time for the preceeding panel, i.e. the aligning of the panel in the loading device took place when the preceeding panel is cut. As soon as the feeding device returns to the zero position the loading device transfers the next panel to the feeding device, the panel maintaining its precise aligned position. The reels are spring loaded so that stock can be unwound from the rolls only by positively driving the same with selectively driven pinch rollers. Guide tracks direct the stock to a rotary shear which cuts single ticket lengths from the stock without metal to metal contact, thereby achieving excellent service life. Sensors provide an indication of spent rolls, completion of a cutting operation, and presence of a ticket in the shear. Abstract: In the hitherto known apparatus of a similar kind the table adapted to support thereon a shape being cut out is mounted on a base for motion solely in a vertical direction.A characteristic feature of an apparatus in accordance with the invention is that the table for accommodation thereon of the shape being cut out is mounted on a base for longitudinal motion relative to the parallel sides of a template equidistant from the contour of the shape being cut out, in opposite directions, the drive of the table, effecting longitudinal motion of the table, being electrically connected with means providing for energization of this drive successively for, first, forward motion of this table and, second, return motion thereof, depending on the position of the cutting head relative to the parallel sides of the template.
